how starcraft killed my school

I started playing sc since about the time I went to high school, I got competitive in it, went to lan's and wanted to become the best, and the way to do that was to do it the korean way.

this way thought me how to work. never doing anything for school didn't help me with this one bit. but it showed me another path. that one of becoming a pro gamer. it was my dream, and maby somewhere it still is.

having tried to become sc2 pro for years I learned a thing that defines me to this day: work hard, and results will show, no matter how long it will take.

When my high school was finished I got the choice between going to comminty college and get a degree there in computer science, or 2 years longer to a diffrent high school which will grant my acces to college. My choice went to the first of the two because then I could have something of use. I could make money with it, which I couldn't with the better high school degree.

And now im fck'd...... really really hard......

I finished mutiple subjects on school already for the rest of the school year, no teacher giving me any work, and my only place to dump time in is a project for one of the worst client ever.

my grade average is a mere 8.2/10 and there is no way of speeding things up.

Luckly I have hang out here on teamliquid.

Join a club, do some extracirriculars, try to get get an internship or entry job in the field you're going to graduate in. Theres really no reason to bitch about how there is nothing to do when there are so many options available. Especially if you only have an 82%. That being said, sometimes it can be difficult seeing the options when all you are used to is just classes and nothing else. Hang in there.

if 82% is bad where u are wtf is good
when i was in highschool typically 75% was a 7 (IB scores from 1-7, 7 being the highest), 70% for a 7 in math/physics
even now in my uni the minimum for an A is still somewhere between 70-80%

edit: fixed obvious typos
edit 2: and generally in highscool 65+% (a 6 in most cases) was deemed very good and was what people aimed for in their best subjects, 5 (50-55+%) was okay provided it was one of your weaker subjects and you weren't aiming to study it in uni

i will be doing an internship in my last semster of this year, and currently feel not capable yet of doing freelance work. but once I get to that point all should be good.

I wish I live in that country -.-
1-6 (1 being the highest) you need 91+% for 1, 78+% for 2 ... 50+% for 4 (4 being "okay" or at Uni "pass"). School and Uni use a very similar percentage.

edit: I am looking my uni exam-marks now, 13/20 exams have 76+%.
