"For good shape you need practice more." - White Ra
This was today's objective:
Today was a big day for me being a Magic The Gathering player, the pro tour was on and the decks played over the weekend would have a big effect on what I would be playing in the Manchester GP at the end of May. As a result I had until 2pm to finish all my exercise so I got up and did it all in one go.
I started at home with the body exercises, I was able to complete all of the sets without a problem. Even with the push ups which hurt the most I was able to complete each set without stopping and they weren't half-assed push ups either!
Next came the cardio, although there were options open I decided to go for a 20 minute jog/run and try and improve on my previous times... and I DID. I covered about 3.35km in 20 minutes and averaged 6.01 per kilometer, a good 10 seconds faster than last time. It was a really hot day and after the end of the first kilometer I began to really struggle. My second kilometer was the slowest, I didn't even think I would be able to cover a full 3km in the 20 minutes. But I pushed with everything I had during the last kilometer and even managed to eek out another 300 meters. I literally collapsed under a tree and spent about 10 minutes recuperating.
After resting I went over to the last part of the days exercise being the sprints. I had no way to measure 60m so I ended up doing 5x8-9 second sprints. Despite being tired I found them no challenge at all during as during such a small sprint I don't have time to worry about my breathing or being tired.
Unfortunately the days starcraft was the worst one so far. I ended up starting late due to being fixated by the pro tour coverage then proceeded to lose 4 games in a row, all due to simple build order mistakes.
More positively I maintained 5 concurrent viewers and gained a new follower.I also met a french player called Rain who has agreed to help me out with my play and has become my first practice partner. Tomorrow I will be playing customs with him and going through replays on stream be sure to tune in!
Overall I am really happy with how I have progressed physically and I am so grateful for the few regular viewers I have appearing in my chat day after day and I really want to provide more quality content.
I really do need to start practicing more if I hope to improve and reach masters, from now on I will be playing from 7-10 every night and I will try and get at least one hours practice in before the stream begins. The first hour of the stream will be customs games to develop builds which I will then use on ladder.
There will be no summary today however I will begin to create a large list of things I need to improve on per match-up and will be back to the summary's after tomorrows stream.
