Why is are SKT T1 Ace's Soulkey and Rain on Jin Air? Where are Creator and MarineKing on Prime? Maru not on Jin Air? What the hell is going on?! Allow me to explain, and try to convince you to join in on this awesome alternate reality.
Aligulac Fantasy Proleague is what is going on. In the wonderful game known as FPL that our hosts here at TL put on you select players from the pool of Proleague players and earn points when those players do well in their real life matches (and lose points when your Anti-Team plays well) in order to compare and compete with other players here on Team Liquid. In the Aligulac based Fantasy Proleague, the teams are drafted from the same pool as TL's FPL, there is a point based player value system, but players are unique and there is no anti-team. There cannot be a Maru or Flash on every team, as there is only one Maru and one Flash. Once our teams are drafted, we then play them against each other using a Random Number Generator, Aligulac Inference, and Map statistics to generate a purely fantasy outcome. The matches and maps we play mirror the real life proleague, but the players and lineups for each team are 100% fantasy, determined by each coach, for each round.

In AFPL, you submit your blind lineup to our admin (Darkdwarf), just like the real coaches in the real Proleague. Based on the statistics for each matchup, each map, and your teams individual strengths and weaknesses, you choose who plays when and where. Polar night was favored for Zerg in Season 1, so SKT plays Roro, pretty straightforward there. With a strong 66% win rate in PvZ (A monster 8-2 in his last 10 against Zerg) and high overall Aligulac rating, Rain is clearly favored in this match even with the Zerg bias of the map. A strong play by Opterown nets him the 1-0 lead.
mouzChase jumps right back ahead in maps two and three though. With the strong pair of Maru and Trap playing on the Terran favored Habitation and the Protoss favored Frost, these two wins come easy.
On the most heavily favored Zerg map in the pool, both our coaches unsurprisingly play their last Zerg heroes. Opterown's envisioning of Jin Air's Zerg ace Soulkey is the easy favorite here and he doesn't disappoint. Opterown ties it up at 3 maps a piece and we are head into the Ace match!! Even better though, is we don't have to wait through 15 minutes of Mind Time! (Obviously if you feel like listening to Mind Time while the matches are calculated that is entirely up to you)
Yeonsu was Protoss' map in Season 1 so Rain as Opterown's ace is an obvious choice. mouzChase decides to play unorthodox and use his overall strongest player, despite a map disadvantage and chooses Maru. We all know that Yeonsu is only OP for Protoss because of blink all in's and we all ALSO know that Rain would never do that. So clearly Rain won fair and square by holding off Maru's early aggression, not attacking, not attacking some more, then pushing for the win with storm, colossi, and everything else that 1a's.

If this game sounds exciting to you at all, please say so! We have two teams ready to be taken over this season, as stated above. We'll be starting with a trading off-season where you can trade players to other coaches, release them as free agents, then enter the Season 2 draft ready to add your favorite player to your roster. We're also adding in a large number of new players to the system so our draft pool isn't even limited to the Proleague it's named for. That's right, you could have a team with Taeja, Maru, Innovation, and Flash all on one lineup! Or you could have an all-Liquid lineup featuring TLO, Ret, Snute, Hero, Taeja, Bunny, and Mana!!!! (Point cap and trade-skill permitting of course)
We will also be increasing roster size to 9 players, up from 6, and changing the match format to be Bo7's! So there's going to be a ton of sweet RNG based SC2 action this season! First come, first serve on who wants Prime or Jin Air obviously. :D We'll be starting as soon as we have our two open spots filled.
