The seats are plush for public transit. The carpeting on the floor seems somehow less scuffed, the standardized safety windows seem somehow more professional. Even the other passengers are better dressed. It's certainly still a train, but it's a nice one.
More than anything, though, is the silence. On the Local trains that make every stop there are people ferrying their children around, teenagers travelling to visit friends, babies crying, even dogs illicitly smuggled onto the cars in hopes the inspector doesn't notice or care. The bullet, though, makes far too few stops for dogs, too few stops for sobbing infants or doting mothers and screaming children. No, the bullet is for long distance travel, and is soundproofed and aerodynamic.
