You beat me down, grind my innards to dust, yet never do you give up, like a blacksmith you tirelessly try to hone me, to bring forth that image, you believe to be my true potential
Putting me to challenges, I so desperately wish I could live up to

Yet you haunted my bed, tongue in the darkness; forcing me to discover a self I never knew existed
The clarity of your voice still lodged in my mind, its vividness so painfully sharp, like the razor on my desk, promising to cut into that sacred center, promising oblivion, a tantalizing potential, should I give in to the fatigue for but a moment. Is that sweet promise worth the price of my self? I don’t think so.
Both of you, love of my life and my inner monologue, try to change me. But I’ve had enough. I cannot.. Will not become what you want me to. I must break away from you, find my own path, and show you why.
