So around a year ago I kinda stopped playing SC2 kinda suddenly.
I was mainly due to:
- I just had made it back to diamond, and didnt feel like I had the ability to make it to masters, so I had no concrete goal anymore.
- I fucking hated TvP
- WoW:MoP had just came out and my friends wanted to give it a go.
So yeah, for a year I didnt play much, I played WoW for a bit, then went to LoL with the same friends with a few other games mixed in. I still bought HotS, played a few game at the release, but it didnt last. I kept following the scene a bit, but I probably played less than 20 games in a year since then.
Last week the WCS finals got me hyped up and I wanted to play again. So I fired up the game again, played a few games got trashed (expected) and one thing came up again.
TvP.
Fuck this fucking goddamn matchup. It may be balanced, but it sure as hell isn't fun to play. :<
So what happened was I played a few games last week, got frustrated by TvP and stopped again.
But I wasn't satisfied, I still wanted to play TvT and TvZ. I just wanted to get rid of this "What if I get a TvP AGAIN" fear that prevented me of pressing the Find Match button :<
So yesterday I went back to the game once again, with the decision that I would just fucking proxy 11/11 in every TvP. And surprise: game is fun again :D
-I dont have the fear anymore of getting a matchup that I fucking hate 40% of the time when I start a ladder game.
-Mixing in cheese is actually pretty fun and I didnt do it enough before.
-Practicing micro (well I must admit this one is to feel better about myself  )
-I get to make Protoss players rage after all those years o/
Yay !
TLDR: Proxy 11/11 in TvP, game is fun again, yay !

haha, I did the same thing for a little while (11/11 TvP). Eventually it stopped working, but by then I had a picked up a few builds that could actually work.

I actually cannot stand TvP. It's the least fun matchup in the game as Terran.

I'm P, and I do exactly the same. I hate PvP so I just DT rush everytime xD

I hate ZvP, so I started proxy hatching at his natural. Win or Loss the game ends quickly and I do not have to deal with mass VR or Colo Deathball nonsense.

Now that i'm back playing Zerg... ZvZ... NO ! NO ! 9pool at best, 6pool at worst. Game does not last long :p

Proxy BC sounds fun, I dont think it would be doable in TvP though

hm, maybe I'll try that too. leaving roughly 20 TvPs last week at the start of the game surly destroyed my MMR.

I quit playing over the start of the summer and well fell in love with my PS3 again lol I have started playing SC 2 more lately though.

Well i don't know if it can work. Because BC in early destroy marines. You get yamato before viking (or at the same time) but i was not at a level where oponent can micro viking perfectly so... it's not really a problem.
But you can try and post your build here :p

I'm coming back to sc2 now too that I'm finally getting a better pc and actually thinking of switching to terran. Why is tvp so bad, is it random stuff early game or collo/templar being hard to micro against late game?
I used to play toss but that was mostly couz i was playing on a duocore laptop that's 8 years old now and getting 1 fps in late game fights so i just tried winning early/mid game or macro better late game...
Oh well, good to know you are enjoying the game again :D

splash is really hard to deal with if you don't micro properly
