This all seems pretty innocuous but I have had accounts banned without warning or audio removed in the past. So it's worrysome. Their policies are so random.

I'm not sure I understand your complaint here... What's the issue? You used music in your videos and they aren't going to fuck with your videos, they are just going to run an ad and give the revenue to the companies that pay the artists who created that music right?

This is actually really, really good compared to the horror stories I usually get about Youtube and copyright infringement. You received a nice, moderate and above all else, reasonable response to your actions.
Ah, YouTube and Copyright is bullshit. However, you're a non-German, so be happy! I remember getting a mail from YouTube, asking me to remove music from Nomak's Strategy guide. This was like five years ago. I really wanted to take it down, but for some reason I got a message from GEMA saying my video (MY VIDEO) wasn't available in Germany. So I couldn't remove it. It was a little bit silly. Today I can view it. Don't ask me why. I haven't changed a thing. It's really curious.
YT has gotten much better over the years. I uploaded hundreds of starcraft vids with copyrighted songs. Basically there are 3 types of songs: OK - doesn't even trigger anything AD - lets you play the song if you allow yt to show ads in the vid (and the author gets some share) - you don't have to do anything (probably won't be viewable on mobile devices tho). NOT OK - youtube can ban the video from certain parts of the world (99% it's Germany) - you can either be okay with that or youtube lets you delete the song from the video (in youtube editor, you just click "delete this and this song" and it does it's shit)
No problems ever arised here, and if you just uploaded a few AD songs I highly doubt you're going to run into any trouble.
