I usually don't like to use color... it's messy, it's relatively more time consuming (mostly cuz I don't have a lot of experience with it) and it requires a lot more concentration (for me anyway). Anywhere your eye lands on a drawing, instead of just thinking about the right tone value on a one-dimensional scale like a monotone piece, there is now a 2d plane of infinite colors to pick from. But I really enjoy the surreal vibrancy you can achieve, and as proficiency improves, mood that you can alter with colors. So once in a while I'll dive in to make sure I can still use color if I have to.

Beautiful as always! Lately I've been logging way more hours working as a colorist than as a general illustrator, so it's nice to get some color inspiration from someone 10000x more skilled than me. Really fantastic.

I think this is by far your best one. It looks absolutely great with color. Might as well be a photograph.

This looks better than those Renaissance paintings you see from famous painters. Their's are good and all, but don't look as realistic as this one does imo.

These are always absolutely fantastic, and this one was no different. I really liked the use of pastel in it, using color is another direction, I'll like whatever you do though, so long as you do it well; you always do it well just to make sure that wasn't a question haha.

I opened the thread expecting the usual monochrome portrait, but it was definitely a shock seeing an amazing color piece right below a fairly humble description. Awesome job!
