Your loyalty is a good thing, but in the real world chemistry between two people should not be intervened by jealousy or insecurities. Pursuing a relationship behind his back would be a dog move, however if the chips landed on you and the girl developing something, you need to address him and express how much you like the girl and how much she likes you. Then it's just up to him from there, and a best friend would get over it. | ||

None of you knows how his friend is as a person, how can you give such advice? "He should understand" What if his friend has an altar of her with candles and voodoo dolls and big posters and pictures of her with different outfits and postures and facial expressions... OP: Ultimately you have to ask yourself this: Is it worth risking a lifelong friendship with your best pal for a relationship with a girl that might not even last a year? The first step is to tell you friend how you feel. After that you have to feel what to do. | ||
