I'm a cocky bastard so naturally I love talking about me. I had a pretty damn good 2012 and I was going to make a post about it but stuff it. All talking about the past really does is make other people think you're bragging and I can't be bothered with that. Admittedly I care a lot less about what the internet thinks of me this year than last but honestly, I still care a little bit. So this is a brag blog about stuff that hasn't happened yet, so anyone angry can still hope I fail.

But either way, I thought about writing a blog about how amazing AGDQ is and how important it is to me but instead I am going to write a list of what I intend to do this year. The difference here is that I have fully planned and booked all of these things so they're actually going to happen. None of this new-years resolution bollocks. Barring death, this is all on the cards.

1. Become fluent in a second language. - I've been learning German serious since September last year and I'm nearing the end of one of my two courses. I can talk somewhat comfortably in german about a few subjects. I have about 70% comprehension of Futurama in German, about 30% of fiction books, 90% of video-games, 95% of Esports news and about 60% of mainstream news. I'm going to take a B2/C1 fluency exam in June after an extended trip to Germany to try out my skills in full.
2. Move out - OK so this one is actually not fully sorted but after 23 years of living with my Parents I have the money to get out of the house and to a world of walking distances to friends and places, no deep breaths before inviting girls home and the ability to decide everything I eat and do. I just need to find someone to come with me.
3. Get Partnered on Twitch - I host a speedrunning show every sunday night (TheSundaySequenceBreak, google it) and we're going to be partnered real soon. We can't be stopped. Making a weekly show like this was a dream of mine and it became reality last year. This year, we're going to make it the best show ever.
4. Go to America again - The height of affluence, crossing the Atlantic twice in one year. I'm going to Boston and New York again. Boston is my favourite US city and someone invited me to stay in New York so why the hell not.
5. Acquire new skills: Dancing/Archery - I'm going to learn how to Tango this year. I'm also going to take up Archery. It was my favourite part of any youth camp and I realise this year that it only costs a day's pay to spend six weeks learning how. That's nothing. 7 hours work for 12 hours archery? Easy conversion.
6. Improve existing skills: cooking/cocktails - Gotta impress the ladies. I already know how to mix drinks and cook but why not take the flair to the next level? I'm already cooking food and mixing drinks. Why not spend that time learning to do it well? All the stuff is there and the time is set aside.
7. Squat two times body weight - I'm already squatting 1.75x BW. 2x will be easy peasy.
8. Work from home - I found out my office will let me work from home. What the hell am I wasting time in the office for? The plan is to work Monday & Tuesdays at home by the end of the summer.

These are my plans from now until July. Hopefully I can post a super braggy blog then about how great I am and another one about the plans for the rest of the year.

If you ever wanted to know how to brag without achieving anything, there you go. Now even the most un-talented of us can sound successful. Happy new year.

This sounds more like being proud of something than openly bragging where it doesn't belong.

If you're using your blog to note how proud you are, that sounds less obnoxious than bragging in common discussion areas.

Nonetheless, congrats you cocky butthead!

Boston is your favorite US city??? I feel so bad for you. Dknight is from there and he is an awful human being

Archery sounds like a cool talent. Improving your cooking is always awesome too! It impresses the ladies, and it's awesome being able to cook something great on your own for a fraction of what it would cost in a restaurant.

Good luck!

Best of luck, and I'm a bit sad that you didn't also brag about the stuff you did 2012. I was looking forward to it when I clicked the link.

It will be 10 months, not four. I started in September and will take the exam in June.

AGDQ was amazing, but well, all charity SDA marathons were in my not really impartial opinion. I still can't find the time to watch at least an episode of SundaySequenceBreak, but be assured that I'll try that one day on my spare time. One day. I swear.

You got a lot to be proud about dude you are awesome. TSSB kicks ass. Having said that, if I could do one thing to change you for the better it would to erase the word 'yo' from your vocabulary entirely. Replace it with something more becoming to an English gent. For example, 'I say'.

PS a question...does everyone from SDA like get why people were loving Jared aka Blueglass? A lot of us really enjoyed how he seemed to constantly be there on the screen supporting runners.

PPS do you post on the TLHF forums? I don't recall seeing any posts from you. We put our weight goals and progress down there, it can be useful for getting info and also internet high fives, there are a bunch of really knowledgable people.

It's impossible to not say yo when you've been in America for a week. Especially when surrounded with others saying it. When I'm at home my usage is cut by about 90%.

People know exactly why the chat latched on to Blueglass. I do not want to put words in other people's mouths but to the runners, having someone constantly in the front row isn't always a positive thing to us. There were others who watched a lot of runs and they didn't get any positive attention at all. How I see it is that the "love" for Blueglass stemmed from a lot of people feeling guilty about how they treated someone (the initial yellow shirt, high-pitched voice mockery) then trying to justify their choice by changing tact. Honestly, watching and enjoying runs is what everybody in the building was doing all the time. It was just more obvious with him.

I do post on the TLHF forums, just not that often. Last post was on new year about how my goals had gone. I read them a lot though.
