DanielHetberg 141 Posts January 10 2013 20:51 GMT #50 I never paint my sculptures, I leave them as plain polished stones. Polishing demands a bit of patience, but I just love the look of polished stones. I'm considering putting a metal rod as a support below the immortal, so that its weight doesn't rest on its legs. The other end of the rod would be fastened to a stone pedestal (I'm thinking black basalt or something, you can buy those ready-to-use, such as these here).

Don't want to give too much of a preview here, but I think I'll need around six more sessions to finalize the legs. That's before I go into refining the proportions and detailing the whole thing.
