Read it around the 1990s
Given , i think, by my mom's German friend. We were in england, english language book
Christian young teen fantasy fiction
Its the first in a series i think
Starts off with a boy who lives in a little town that has walls around it and no1 goes out. His name is something like "little trouble". He gets exiled from the town for being annoying, and they close the gates behind him.
He thus starts a pilgrimage (journey).
The town might be called something like oldtown or churchtown. The boy changes his name i think to something else. If i could bloody remember his name i might find it
In later /later book i think he tries to build a new town called newtown or something. not sure
One of his first problems on his journey is he gets stuck in sticky tar road.
He keeps meeting this girl who is a bit sassy along the way.
The cover of the first book is possibly a pic of the small town in a field/landscape.
I already somehow manage to find the names of the other 2 books i remember from when i was young, "This Time of Darkness" and "The Boy Who Reversed Himself". these r ossum

Although I can't help you, I'd also like to locate a book maybe somebody has read. I don't remember much about it but it was during some war, a group of teenagers flee the place they were for some reason and camp out in the woods I think. At some point in the story, (its pitch dark at night btw) the male character is wrapped in a blanket to protect against the cold and invites the female character to share it with him. The female character says that she can't because she's naked. Then the guy is like "so am I" and she crawls in the blanket with him and they have sex. That's about all I remember about the book but I think it took place in Australia. Much appreciated if anyone locates my book.

^oh god why do i seem to remember that too
they were camping in some rocky mountain part and there was the tale of a killer who used to live there in the rocks. and later it skips to the future where they are trying to get from one house to the next or something idk my memory gets weirded up hardcore when i try to think of things

I am a very higly-seeded Amateur Googler, but this one stumped me for a bit until I simplified my searches. My exact search was:
"Little Trouble" "Oldchurch" fiction
...and that page was the first thing that popped up.

That is part of the downside to the internet...while we do have access to the wealth of human knowledge, we have become so over saturated with books, blogs, music, and everything else that it has become harder and harder to find those diamonds in the rough.
Sleep well.
