Well treated. People who are well paid but poorly treated often end up depressed, and no amount of money can fix that.

I'd go for getting payed well.I'll be like Barney Stinson.I dont know what i do,i am close of getting fired and i always wear suits.
But seriously i'd go for getting paid well.After working for 5/8 years,i would go into investing mineral water.50 cent made a fortune from this!

Is job security a part of the 'well treated' section of this deal? It sounds to me like the higher paying job would allow for you to viable to be fired at a moment's notice. It doesn't matter how much money a job pays, if you can't keep it you're not gonna get much money out of it.

Honestly, it depends. If you really, really need the money up front, the higher paid job all the way. If you think you can be stable with a low income, go for the well treated.

Depends on my priorities. If I need money for school, family, etc, I'll allow myself to feel humiliated or treated like crap - but I will still have my dignity. Else, I'd want to be treated well, because at the end of the day, money won't make me feel remotely as good as a caring and optimistic workplace/community would.

Higher priority for me by far is being able to work by myself, (mostly) for myself. But I guess that goes into the "working conditions > payscale" category. For me personally, I just love commercial fishing, the work and the lifestyle and everything. Been doing it all my life and hopefully can the rest of my life. However I have a degree and good skillset in a field that is extremely easy to get a decent job in where I live. So I allways have that as a backup.

Basically, I think that as long as you are single its pretty easy to take lifestyle/working conditions as priority but if you want to have a family it offers a lot more responsibility and you might need the money. At least thats the way I feel for me personally. Allthough... rent where I am is about 700 a month for a 1br decent apartment so >50K a year is well paid? Interesting... In that case around here I think it is pretty easy to have both. :D

Depends if being paid significantly less means I'll have to go through people's trash for their partially eaten food to be able to feed myself. If it simply means I don't have enough money to buy extra luxuries (like movies, video games, clothes, electronics, furniture, etc.) after spending my money on bills, food, and rent/mortgage, then I'll go for the better work environment, for the sake of my poor mental health.

Originally I was going to say well paid, then I started to think about all the jobs I've quite. I realize that I've left 3 separate jobs where I was making significantly more than my peers due to a work environment I was no longer happy with ...

So on reflection I have made my decision and it always comes out as me looking for a better working environment...

If you are treated like shit, I'd prefer treatment over pay, but if the treatment is reasonable to endurable, pay is good.

realistically, you are gonna be treated well where ever you go, since you are working with adults, they are mature. So maybe they might not be the type of people that you fit in with, but they will at least be nice.

I prefer well treated. I work at a place now that treats its employees terrible and I dont think any amount of money would make me happier. I am desperately looking for an out now. I used to work for almost minimum wage but was always happy at work. It flowed into my social life and I was much happier at home as well. The negative environment from work will make you miserable and buying happiness is only temporary.
