Did the family know what was wrong the the grandmother beforehand? If she was in seemingly perfect health why did they call the EMT if they knew this?

Medic's and Doctors definitely have a heart wrenching job.

The family said the grandmother was acting "abnormally". I'm guessing they called the ambulance as a precaution; it turns out they were right to.

Never want to work in medicine for this exact reason. Wouldn't be able to handle everything that comes with the job.

So sad.. probably one of the worst things that can ever happen, watching someone you love die in front of you..

My brother was a paramedic before becoming a firefigher and he's told me so many stories. Some humorous; some very tragic. This is right up there.

My old man used to be a critical care specialist, a lot of nights he would come home super sad because he had to go through things like this, said that in order to be a good doctor you sometimes had to put on a mask and leave all your emotions at home.

That's so freaking sad... soooo sad...

I just don't know how snet or any other EMS can deal with their job when things like this happen, but I imagine that saving people makes up for everything.

my buddy was an EMT for a while (don't know if that's the same thing as an EMS but it sounds similar) and he said it was the hardest job he ever had in his entire life. he had to quit after about two years. i have nothing but respect for someone who can do a job like that.
