HIGHLY recommend MM VII, definitely try out VI - VIII. MM4-5 (World of Xeen) is pretty fun too.
Yah I mean, they made NINE games in the series so that has to speak some volume. The first Might and Magic game was released in 1986 for the Apple II, DOS, Commodore 64, etc.
I might do a "MM Let's Play!" type of thing when I have more time, cRPGs are fucking amazing.

Have you considered taking this opportunity being away from the internet to do something unusual? If you just do what you always do it's not going to be terribly interesting. It sounds like a quiet place that would be good for a creative project Ever wanted to write or paint?
Well, the suggestions in this thread aren't bad for games. Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy games are fun, if you just wanna search for roms.

I've been going through the Diablo's for the first time and they're pretty excellent.
Imperial Conquest 2 download the abandonware. Yeah! It's an old school turn based strategy from the mid 90's. Very cool concepts in the game that I really haven't seen elsewhere. Need to campaign in summer/ fall and split up your armies in the winter due to food shortages. Turn based tactical board with a morale system where you can route their troops- very poor to average to elite training and size of armies making the difference.
Play Rome, Carthage, Ptolemy, Selucid or some dinky country like Dacia or Illyria. Probably no-one would like it in this day and age, but I think it's awesome. Can hotseat with other people.
