Hi, guys

I am currently a Protoss player in Starcraft 2.
As the title says, I decided to play SC2 three and a half weeks ago.
I feel pretty good about my progress.
I ended as Rank 4 Gold last Season and I am already Platinum sitting at Rank 1!!!
I really want to take my game to the next level and try to hit Masters by end of Season 7/beginning of Season 8.
That's where you guys come in.
I hope you guys could assist me in reaching my goal through solid advices since you guys are far more experienced than I am at this game!
All your helps will be thoroughly appreciated guys.

Edit (March 19, 2012): I was promoted to Rank 6 Diamond few hours ago and am currently Rank 1 Diamond now!!!. Just had to make this edit because I am very happy at my progress!!!

Best advice I can give is not to take it to seriously. If you do you will find yourself handicapping your self and it just becomes a chore. When you lose don't get frustrated watch the replay and figure out what you can improve on also check for certain timings that the other play did to beat you to find weaknesses. I wished I would've done this back when every ZvP was a +1 6gate. I just got frustrated playing Protoss and would go into every game with the mindset that I was going to lose. I also feel saying 'gg' after every game even if the person cheesed me, or because I made one huge misclick that cost me the game made me feel a little better.

Always be able to know what build the enemy is going for and its weakness. Always have an endgame plan if you don't you will get there and think "Well what now?" you don't ever want to be in that position you have to know what you are going to do before you get there. Don't be afraid to do something in a match-up because its not standard. I've won many ZvTs because of Hydras but I've also lost some.

I was the same way Starcraft 2 was the first RTS I actually played online and I started bronze next week gold was playing diamonds within the next couple weeks and got plat soon after I hit diamond I was filled with joy as I felt I accomplished something. Then a couple months passed masters was released and I got in so I figured the only place next was grandmasters. But then I started getting frustrated because I wanted to progress which I was when I was starting out but that progression slowed I would lose 10~ games in a row to the point I wouldn't want to play anymore and I also became flat out bored of my race. So I went to play 2v2s and tried Terran it was so much fun. I regret ever choosing Zerg without even attempting the other races. Try them all, make sure you have the race that is right for you.

Don't be to hard on yourself when you are losing but also don't blame it on the races or balance. There is always something you can improve on watch your replays and figure it out. If you have an issue mine was injects go into a game and focus on nothing but your injects. A week or so later I had near perfect injects up untill 4-5~ bases. Always focus on something that needs to be improved and one last thing watch Day[9] that's great advice anyone can vouch for. Watch his dailys go into his archive and he probably has something to do with exactly what you are looking for.

Congratz!! You are going up pretty fast, 1 month to go from plat to diamond. Not bad!

Rank 1 diamond doesn't say much though. How many points do you have?
I suggest you use www.sc2ranks.com to see how your region rank is, if you get close to top 3000 in your region and you have a good run against Master players you will get promoted to Masters!

It's good you're optomistic now. My best advice would be to stay that way. At some point you're going to hit a wall (for me that was high diamond on the brink of masters) where you will lose a shit-ton of games in a row and everything will go the enemies way. Stay motivated and keep working and eventually you'll push through it. Making it from diamond to masters is a big jump though. The diamond mmr range in itself is actually really big. Much bigger than the plat/gold mmr ranges. So don't get demotivated if you've been in diamond for a while and you still can't hit masters. Theres is a lot of room to improve while still staying diamond, so just because you haven't hit masters yet doesn't mean you're not getting better anymore.
