First blog. I am sad. Needed to write this down. I am 2 months too late.
Dota-League.com is out of business.
I spend so much time on that site. I have been an admin there. Till I got bored of banana gathering and found a way to multi-account. Both accounts were in the top 20 forum posts. I think. First account had so much games and points. Second account had so much games with 63% win. Third account was fun account.
Then there was SCII. Then there was Team-Liquid.net.
So many good memories. Deleted with that site.
This hurts.

isn't dota2 coming out? couldn't they update the site to accomodate it as well?
|
Nope, dota2 will have an ingame matching system like LoL.
You have to know that dota is a custom map from Warcraft III. There was no ladder. All games were played on Bnet through the custom system from Warcraft III.
I have played over 5000 hours dota. Damn.

Didn't last so long because so many winners were multi-accounts they couldn't trace. What was your nickname? The 4300 points one, I looked at those rankings from time to time. Might remember you.
DotA was such a great game. I still can't believe it.
Have been watching that list off names on www.dota-league.com for 30 minutes. Smiling at some names when they pass.
w-a-r-l-o-r-d to name one. Great guy. Zelmut Fleme . . . damn so many great people.

To be fair dota 2 has a "tournament" button which is currently greyed out in the "play" tab so they may well integrate some sort of ranking system.

my most famous accounts were todorka and didorins , also i remember that competition lasted monday - monday and i had to be out of town friday - monday. So i played 60 games or in a row. I had 160 pts when the 2nd guy had like 45. And they banned me for account sharing. Than i made my 2nd acc , wasnt multi before. :D

I still prefer Dota over Dota 2. Dota is not dead yet! there are still playdota bots and the playdota site is still dedicated to DotA1!
|
i played a lot in that site for a while, it was really nice to have a ladder where leavers and flamers would get bans, and vip was good once upon a time , u got to play with so many known and high level players, could learn a lot from them
|
VIP was always good. In the beginning it was really really good because you could play with Maelk sometimes. I still remember the first time I saw him in queueue and I was almost crying that I was able to join and be on his team . Would be the same as joining a 2v2 and suddenly you are playing with MVP.
Such good times. I am hearthbroken.
