Looks like a great project. I love the mounts for the monitors so you don't need the stands. The look a bit high though, are you really tall or do you look up a bit?
|
It comes low enough to the point where it will almost crush me and it also goes high enough to go through the ceiling.
I am exactly 6 foot.

Sick project! Love seeing people do stuff like this. Get those hands dirty!
|
Nice!
Makes me wish my desk was not the one it is so I could mount my monitors.
Three monitors take up a LOT more desk room than you'd think, lol. ><
|
monitors seem high. that work for you?
|
Wait wait wait
What you're telling me is that you didn't install a built in refrigerator, ice box, and oven into it?
Hardly the "Ultimate" setup, if I do say so myself.

Pretty cool project, but I'm curious what the point of it being able to raise/lower is?
EDIT: !@#$ I just wasted my 1000th post. This desk better turn out awesome to commemorate my post

So you can stand and do things or sit when you get tired of standing, my ass gets sore after sitting for a while.
WOOO HOOO PUMA!

Sick project.
Time to sell it to the masses. Make it raise up and down faster, and so it goes up and down by a touch sensor system on the bottom of the table.
|
great idea to build your own. Standing desks rock but this is the best of both worlds.

Ha! Whats the most you would pay for something like this?
|
If someone would ask this to be custom-built, how much would you ask for it? Yep I agree, monitor looks too high
|
That is baller! Sometimes I wish I was a handy man but I've got two left hands when it comes to stuff like this.

You need to partner with MLG UGH.....then you will have a UGD in your UGH. So you can UGD while you UGH!

I like the clean setup myself, I'm a big time fan of minimalism in design, right now the thought of a dual screen setup feels like a bit much, I like that you have a boat load of space on the desk, so you can fit a mouse/keyboard and then some, I would love to have a bigger desk right now more than anything, so I could put papers/books that I'm reading/working on somewhere.
|
I think you should add some cup holders that are spill proof so that way your keyboard and mouse are always safe.

I think i need more time with it, so far this height is working well for me. If i decrease it anymore i wont be able to add 3 more monitors.

Those monitors seems to be high up. If it works for you it's all that matters. I've heard that the top of the screen should be where your eyes are. I dont know if this is 100% true but i've been told that when we look down we are more relaxed than if we look forward/up. This is because when we look forward we "look for danger" and when we look down we "search for food such as mushrooms and berries".
|
Thats amazing :O
But wheres the chair?

I'm not sure it's "ultimate" until you slap a treadmill under that thing so you can burn mega calories while you casually web browse/game.

And I would see this as more of a commercial product than household.
ei libraries, financial institutes, universities, corporations, etc.. even if they don't need it you can make them buy it, that's capitalism baby.
