Slow to React

Well, recently i haven't had much of a chance to update my blog. I don't actually even know a reason why i am typing this blog, who will read it, or why i made it in the first place.

Disregarding my doubts, I plan to continually update my blog with content. So firstly lets begin with what i've been up to in my Starcraft 2 experience. I recently purchased a new account in which I quickly leveled up to division rank 1 diamond, already facing masters players and performing well overall. My old account, in which now has over two thousand league wins (excluding losses, hell, i have no clue how many games in total i've played), is now my primary race for playing team games, and off racing on ladder. I still manage to hover at about the top 25 division rank in diamond with all of my other races, and it provides me with a varied experience so terran doesn't get extremely dull as it has in the past.

On another note, i have decided my strongest and main race for competitive and serious play will officially be terran, other than protoss. Zerg was another option i was considering and am still considering but i will only do so if i obtain the performance I seek on ladder with my "old" account.

Now that we've gotten past the Starcraft stuff, lets discuss whats been going on in my life in general. Recently, a little bit into the school year in enrolled in a work based learning program in which i am able to basically become the assistant or apprentice of a specific individual in a specific area of work i am interested in. Me being the nerd I am, I quickly applied to be the apprentice to the IT representative at our school, our Technology Technician Karl. So far it's been quite the lucrative experience, knowledge wise, and i've pretty much determined i enjoy this field of work and plan to pursue it.

School has been generally so-so. Making average grades and focusing on my passions and interests more than anything. I would make exquisite grades if i put forth the effort but honestly, I just put in the effort required to pass with a generally acceptable grade. I don't have any deep passion or interest for any academic in particular at all, the only thing i love is technology and computers.

Recently, Dreamhack Winter 2011 occured and let me be quite frank here. I was appalled by the crowd for the finals of starcraft 2. I was amazed by the passion and the understanding the crowd had for the game, but most of all i was impressed by the number of fans. I'm pretty sure everyone was actually. The tournament finals were held in the so-called "Dream Arena", which was pretty much a swedish hockey stadium. The seats were filled from bottom to top, and there were even chairs in the floor that were filled. The crowd was there, the hype was there, but honestly... the production was slightly flawed and encountered some hiccups and errors. There were several microphone issues, a terrible terrible awful horrible horrid terrible host of the finals, and the video and camera angles were sometimes awkward. Hopefully these things get hammered out in the future, but i was generally impressed. I hope it happens again and that other leagues will observe this tournament.

Lets talk about the games in the finals! Generally i feel the games weren't of the epic quality but i feel the entirety of the series was a healthy, great best of 7. The games were played out well, extremely high level of play from both players, nerves were shown to be somewhat of an issue for both, mind games were played, meta-gaming occured, but most of all it went the distance...

The series went to the final game, and it consisted of players cheesing to get even when down games, there were macro games played, two base timings, it was all there. Im incredibly happy to see hero win a tournament because i feel many who actually know of him feel he deserved it. He has been playing protoss at a remarkable level and has been innovating alot in the past month or two. I hope he succeeds more in the future. ESPORTS!

This generally sums up my blog for today and i hope it wasn't too boring.

PS: I apologize for my inconsistent capitalization of the letter i in the independent form >.<

This sums up my feelings for the event as well. Remarkable player finally got what was coming to him after a lot of hard work. You can see him play above just about every protoss out there. Crisp control, mixing it up and generally quite good at picking strategies. A finale at MLG Providence with Hero vs. Leenock would have been turned out way different than the styles of murdering FFE lol.

It's a little sad that Puma got pointed out as an villain just because he's playing terran and for EG.

The reason behind the three blogs at once is that i had been posting these on another site, so i simply copy and pasted them over to here because they had much more of an appeal here at team liquid. Won't happen again.

In using appall in such a manner it in insinuates exaggeration of being generally suprised and amazed by the crowd. :D Or atleast thats what i meant LOL

That is unfortunately not what the word means. Sorry to be so nitpicky but I had to do a double take when I read that part.
