These kinds of things are usually covered in caster reports during matches but they are often sparse and sometimes vague. And they aren’t written down. You often have to take the word of the caster when he says “player y often does this strategy verses zerg”. Not to say that casters haven’t done their homework, or that I don’t trust them, but a nice little statistic to back those claims up makes for good media. Something quick and simple to breakdown an instance during a game. Especially useful during a complex and fast paced game such as starcraft. And it would be nice to review these things between matches.
whatthefat did a great job in his spending quotient article here where he breaks down the pro’s average income verses unspent minerals. I’d love to see more things like that. This unit distribution page is interesting but many of the games these stats are coming from are community uploaded replays. I’d like to see this kind of information coming from a major tournament with major league players, and in regards to specific players.
If anybody has a place where I can find stats like this or is putting them together themselves I would love to see it.
