BroodWar in Mac OS X Lion (10.7+)

Rus_Brain Russian Federation1894 Posts October 03 2011 06:42 GMT #1 Guys, Is it so that the only way to launch BW on new Macs is parallels/bootcamp now? I tried to run installer as always and it failed: If there's still some way to run BW on mac directly, please help.

I couldn't find the original support post, but this thread has a blue poster making the issue clear. Basically, all the pre-WoW games except Warcraft III require PowerPC emulation, which isn't in Lion, and their recommendation is to either stay with OS X 10.6 or use Boot Camp. bsas 4 Posts October 17 2011 04:07 GMT #5 There is a way to make StarCraft Broodwar work in MacOS Lion: using Wineskin (free) 1) Download Wineskin: http://wineskin.doh123.com/ 2) Install and download the engine: WS8Wine1.1.35 (yeas, not the latest) 3) Use this engine to install Starcraft (Windows Version) This works perfectly on my Macbook Pro 13'' Mid-2009. Any question, be free to ask! :D
