I would like to think that I am a traveler. According to the TravelBrain app on facebook, I've been to 8% of the world's countries. I like to think that I am an adventurer, a learner of new experiences, an explorer. Having said that, I have also never been apprehensive or scared to take on a new world, new challenges and to meet new people.
But as I pack to spend the next year of my life in London, England, I can't help but feel really quite anxious and even nervous about my move. Perhaps it is because I'm leaving my doggies behind, maybe it's because I'm sad to leave the friends I have here.
Doggies helping me pack. Kinda.
But whatever it is, I haven't been able to brush this feeling off. It's actually kinda starting to worry me. Is this the first sign of me growing old? Am I settling?
I think I'm due for some change. Having been in Seoul the last four years has made me complacent with my life. Sure, I've taken small holidays here and there but I feel as though I haven't had much personal growth. I've grown comfortable with my life and my position in it. I was a pseudo SC:BW caster, translator and interviewer while being a teacher and educational consultant and a girlfriend.
And this comfort is what I don't want, I guess. So here I am, on the move again.
I hope that England provides me with some answers and hopefully more questions to keep me on my toes, to make me hungrier for life and to keep searching for whatever it is I am searching for. To keep things whole and to someday, become whole myself.
"In a field I am the absence of field. This is always the case. Wherever I am I am what is missing.
When I walk I part the air and always the air moves in to fill the spaces where my body's been.
We all have reasons for moving. I move to keep things whole."

Finding out about yourself is really important. Good luck on the next chapter in your life!

There is a fine line between nervousness and excitement, you can't really have one without the other. Besides, feeling anxious about leaving things behind means you have created something worth holding onto to. It seems Seoul has treated you well (those dogs are adorable), I am sure London will do the same.
Holy crap, you'll be there for the Olympics! You lucky bastard
Good luck

What kind of dog is that on floor?
Coming from someone who loathes moving, vacationing, traveling, changing jobs, or anything beyond unexpected weather... your travel/adventuring sounds exhausting!

Taco t.T he will be so lonely.
London always looked like a neat place to go though. You will probably enjoy it.

ahhh susie i have always admired you you've had so many different proverbial hats on and they all suit you perfectly (at least, interviewer/translator/caster certainly do, though i unfortunately can't judge the others from observation). best of luck wherever you go! you'll rock london.
also haha wish i had gotten to meet you in seoul/NJ while you were there. oops, monsoon and real life.

GL with the move... I suspect the anxiety factor won't last too long for you.

Omg, the U.K? TAKE ME WITH YOU ):
In any case, my honest opinion is "wait & see". That's my motto, why worry about something you can't distinguish, label or understand?
Wait and see how London is, how you find yourself within, etc. You probably already know this, but I'm terrible at reassuring others.

Have fun in London! I wish I could go there again and even stay. I know you'll have a great time, you're the kind of person who'll find a way to enjoy it.
