Alot of people guessed that this was EG's announcement from the beginning. For those that remember, EG was the other team Huk was considering back when he first signed onto TL.
Honestly, though? I think this is a bad move for Huk, EG hasn't exactly been in the best of light recently, with the Puma situation. Plus, there's incontrol, who loves to contradict himself, and always goes back on what he says.
I will continue to support Huk. He's one of my favorite Protoss' to watch. But I can't say the same for EG.
EG said not 4-5 months ago that they want to focus their sights on foreign ventures. This is why Tasteless left EG. This is (one of the reasons) why IdrA left the GSL in the first place. What happened to the promising foreign ventures, EG? NASL Not turn out well? Incontrol and Machine continually going 0-5 in pool play at MLG?
Whatever the case, good luck in your futures, Huk. Though you may be EGHuk now, You will always be Top 3 control in our hearts.

I remember seeing someone say Huk was a good guy or something for choosing heart over money by choosing TL. Teeheehee

liquid has their fair share of weak players too

"Weak" relatively only to the superstar performances we come to expect from a team of TL's caliber. Even haypro, who arguably has the least official tournament results, goes 2-3 in MLG groups, compared to the EG members who go 0-5. Tyler slumping? Knocks out Choya. Etc.

i agree with op, the only i liked about eg was idra, when he left korea coz eg said i wasnt pleased. now he comes back. and everyone knows how incontrol is. on top of that, they kinda play bad in tournaments, apart idra ofc.
|
tyler went 0-5 too blah blah random stats yo
also, i love all these blogs that imply huk died. if you love liquid you still can and if you love huk you still can. you gotta be pretty messed up if you hate ANYONE who plays for EG for the drama caused by their management : P

I don't understand the EG hate, I have never been big fans of the EG players, but the organization has always seemed to be professional. Even the "Puma" snipe thing, did not seem unreasonable to me, especially in light of the various other problems the TSL coach has had, indicating that he may have been the unreasonable one. As a fan of Huk, I will cheer for EG.huk, just as much as I did for LiquidHuk, and MilHuk before that.

pretty dick ish blog..
Here is something I won't go back on: I dislike your attitude.
|
The average progamer (obviously BoxeR and Fatal1ty aren't the norm) only has a limited window of opportunity to make money for themselves through progaming. Far be it for me, or anyone else on this forum to criticize HuK for looking out for himself and his future by accepting the more financially advantageous contract offer. All signs point to this being an amicable split, so I'm sure if Liquid` has the ability to pay HuK what he is looking for next time his contract expires he will once again be a member of their roster.

pretty funny blog. EG said that they want to concentrate on foreign ventures, guess what all of their players show up to MLGs, when their players are invited to a foreign tournament, they send them. just because they are making a korean gaming house, doesnt mean that idra/huk/puma will never leave korea for foreign tournaments. please stop overreacting.
btw nasl isnt backed by EG, so i dont know where ur nasl jab came from

>_> @ all the low blows in this thread.

there are so many TL fanboys its actually almost sickening
also, whoever said Tyler knocked out Choya, im pretty sure it was Incontrol Tyler beat him in the open bracket, but he went to the losers bracket where he was knocked out by incontrol

Short term thinking as well. I actually wonder how much was the difference between TL and EG's offer, 25k? 50k? 75k? 100k? Like how much exactly did EG overpay for him to completely piss on the infrastructure that oGs-TL had. Would be interesting to find out.

I'm just going to make the blind assumption that you have no idea what organization you are actually talking about, nor do you have any clue of the skill within the rest of the people on that team. Whatever it is that makes people think that there are stupid people involved with these types of decisions within these organizations is beyond me. I see these kinds of buy-outs and trades as growth within what is now a 10+ year sport.

and then goes 0 - 5
I don't see why any of this matters
Huk is making more money, ALOT more money, period. You can wish that he stayed with TL because you would enjoy it more, but at the end of the day, you wouldn't be the one passing up on thousands and thousands of dollars
Pro-gamers don't have alot of options after their progaming career ends. If huk can start banking some serious cash now, while he's in his prime, he'd be stupid not to
Good move huk, my applause goes out to you
And to the OP, can you please TRY to hide your fanboy-ness before posting, it really helps you not look dumb

Clever tittle to use to bash on EG. HuK is a talented player, he may have lost a lot of benefits for being on TL. However Idra has done alright in Korea in the past as well as Puma. Its quite possible as well that they will attempt to recruit more players to bring to their Korean player house. I'm not a big fan of EG but the direction they are taking with this seems really promising for everyone.
|
Did HuK get run over by a Hummer bought by EG or something because these blog titles are depressing as fuck. If the man shows results and isn't an asshole, let him do what he wants.
|
Huk is a SC2 success story in my opinion. He went from being a guy getting told off for begging for donations on his stream to the highest paid SC2 player.
Whether or not EG is the right fit for him and if he will continue his growth as a player remains to be seen. I think you can be happy for Huk, sad for Liquid, and still not like EG or the way they conduct themselves, all at the same time, if that happens to be your prerogative.
Liquid today is a stronger team than they were 2-3 weeks ago, even with Huk's departure. It's not like it's all bad news for whatever team you're a fan of
|
people really need to stop putting the team before the player. Look, i dont care what team huk is on, i like him and will cheer for him. Same for tyler, same idra, same for TLO, same for incontrol. (note the pattern)
This rallying behind teams before players, and acting like huk is fucking dead or something is really disturbing. He is going to be wearing a different colour of blue to tournaments. 1023192301293 million dollars says at raleigh hes still going to be hanging out and joking around with his liquid friends as well as his eg friends. Its not like players dislike other players for being on a certain team, we see lots of players remain friends far beyond whos name is on their T shirt.
|
I'd have stayed with TL, not for TL, but because they're working with oGs. Having MC as a teammate/practice partner, or having incontrol?
Pretty sure he's now far and away the best protoss on his team and it's pretty tough to continue to improve in that situation.
True though that a progamer's career is short and he needs to make his money while he can. GL huk.

This is a misquote,
"the love of money is the root of all evil"
I personally think that we shouldnt criticize them, we should be glad that they have reached their own decisions and we should respect them

Liquid forever <3 glad to see HuK making more money, that is all.
