Bulgaria travel

hi as you all know im in bulgaria and tomorrow im going to embark on a travel

i am considering this journey:

burgas -> kalofer
HOTEL
kalofer -> sofia -> dupnitsa
HOTEL
dupnitsa -> rila -> rila monestry -> rila -> dupnitsa -> blagoevgrad
HOTEL
blagoevgrad -> bansko -> plovdiv -> smolyan
HOTEL
smolyan -> plovdiv -> burgas

it seems to add up (maybe i should stay in bankso instead of blagoevgrad) but im just throwing it out there incase anyone has any comments on it

dont ask me about train/bus times ill have to spend some more time trying to figure them out , it is an already dubious task

updated with some times haha

1) 5.35 or 14.25 train to kalofer (3.5-4 hours, RБВ3620 "Чайка" )

HOTEL

2) 9.00 train to sofia (2.5 hours)

3) taxi to Ovcha Kupel bus station

4) bus to Dupnitsa (1.5 hours)

HOTEL

5) 6.40 direct bus to rila monastery, or to rila village at 10.00, 11.00 (1 hour). bus from rila village to monastery at

12.40, or take taxi.

6) 18.05 or 21.56 train from dupnitsa to blagoevgrad (35 mins), or bus 18.10, or major bus 19.20, or major bus to bansko at

16.35 or 18.30 (2hrs 20)

HOTEL (blagoevgrad or bansko)

7) train to Dobrinishte (near bansko) then Septemvri via Avramovo then on to plovdiv. trains leave at 7.00, 10.15, 15.20 and

18.40.

8) frequent services to smolyan from plovdiv, until 20.11 (2.5-3 hours)

HOTEL

9) frequent services back to plovdiv then on to burgas

No point in doing this. The train station and Ovcha Kupel are on both ends of Sofia. You can catch a bus to Dupnitsa form the central bus station, which is exactly to the train station. But I strongly recommend instead of Dupnitsa to spend the night in Blagoevgrad.
Also you if you are going to the Rila monastery, you should definately check the seven Rila lakes. And maybe you should spend some time in Sofia. It is one of the oldest cities in the world with a lot of stuff you can see here.

okay, ill consider sofia, i just blindly assumed it was a big yucky city

my friend told me not to stay in dupnitsa too , said i should go straight to bansko or ill get pillaged. ill stay in blagoevgrad one night probs. there are direct busses like you said, dont know why these friendly people on google are giving me difficult routes! can probably get straight to rila/monastery from blagoevgrad too

Some Bulgarians think so, but I have no opinion as I've been in Sofia only once, and that was a long time ago.
Anyway, I hope you have a good time in Bulgaria. Be careful with taxis though, I've heard taxi drivers sometimes try to cheat when driving with foreigners (more money than usual).

Why not stay in Plovdiv a while longer?
Nice city, lot's of places to see.

lol, you wont get pillaged, but there is not so much you can see in Dupnitsa. Its just a industrial city, Blagoevgrad is a university city with a lot of young people and nice places. And yes, you can get to to Rila monastery from Blagoevgrad too.
