Nervous and stiff muscles while playing

hello guys,

I'm playing sc2 since beta and I had played bw back in 99-02.

lately I have discovered sth that occurs during gameplay. in very tense moments of any game (not necessarily a loss) my arms and shoulders feel stiff. I recently discovered this after I decided to focus on my gameplay including outside environment.

I am sitting as I should. There is nothing wrong with my physical position but when there is an attack or action happens I am having hard time moving my mouse, having a calm-hot feeling in my chest etc. after a few games my shoulders hurt. I know this because of being nervous, but it only happens during an action. also sometimes late game when I have to control many things.

I have around 140 apm non-spam. but this stiffness getting in my way to handle things in game.

does anyone experience this?
did you solve the problem?

Two things i can say here...
1. Do you smoke weed? if you do...This will never happen (to me and most of the people i know)
2. Maybe because you take it too serious, play for fun and you might be more relaxed.
Bonus
3. What's the point of being nervous over a game..Unless you're in a huge ass tournament with a lot of money involved. But even then, you shouldn't be THAT nervous. (the conditions that you're explaining)

I smoke weed but once in 6-7 months or so. not regularly

actually the highest success I had in sc2 was in 1024 craft cup. I made it to RO16 AFTER I smoke weed. good point.

Try smoking a bowl or two, then play sc2, will be a great experience =)

Well it seems like you don't smoke much so i'll try it again.. LOL this works for me and it calms me down...

1. Have it in your head that you are better than the opponent, play like how a pro would play it and know that you can beat him/her, but always have the thought in the back of your head not to underestimate them.
2. Know that the opponent is good, so you have to play good, play your game and don't fall behind. Stay on par with them and eventually try to be ahead.

These are my advice, hopefully it'll work for you.

Hasn't happened to me in sc2 but I remember sometimes in bw when things were getting crazy I'd suddenly notice I'm having a lot of trouble moving my mouse around freely... it's been years and I can't remember what the cause was LOL I eventually figured it out...

For starters check to see if your thumb/pinky might be pressed down on more during intense moments and rubbing on the mousepad.

Sometimes I get jittery mouse movement problems. This happens on odd days. The only answer I've found is to go away and have a hot shower, close my eyes and try to relax in the hot water. When I come back I sit down, roll my neck and get ready to play. Its worked so far. That said, I don't know how to actually prevent it as I don't know what causes it.
