So when I first started my placement matches I had the bright idea that I would purposely lose all of my placement matches so I would have to work my way up from dead last. Naturally I was placed in Bronze league. Bronze was right where I belonged anyhow.
As this is my first RTS I was completely enamored with just about everything in the game. I enjoyed learning build orders, executing strategies, and winning games lol.
I owe all three of the above mentioned things to teamliquid.net. Without the help of this community I could have never learned the fundamentals necessary to become a consistent winner and get the heck outta bronze league.
I went from being ranked 1st in Bronze league to being ranked 1st in Silver this am (1 day before the league locks) and Gold doesn't seem all that far away all of a sudden.
Gold was my original goal. I though if I could attain that league I would be content to compete at that level. However, the more I watch GOM and read TL.net, diamond albeit far away may be my new goal.
Again thank you so very much to TL.net and the TL community. I couldn't have done it without you!
EDIT**
Well today I hit gold on the reset! Looks like mision accomplished. Time for a new goal. Diamond here I come.
Gold has been tough vs. Zerg. Time to study up.

With determination and teamliquid on your side diamond league is a very reasonable goal. glhf

If you really are showing as much improvement as you say, then just make sure you play as many games as possible before the leagues get locked tomorrow morning =)

Posted by SDream Lock tomorrow? The lock is most definitely tomorrow. 03/21/2011 3:00 PMPosted by SDream This topic and the blog don't agree much regarding these informations. We're trying to track down the source of the info discrepancy, but as the contents of this forum post are actually the most recent, we believe it to be accurate. Patch/lock tomorrow, reset one week later.

That backfired on me a bit. I lost 1st place due to all the games I played and lost. So I finished 2nd in my division, however I was instantly promoted to Gold today!

good luck good luck!
Hope to see you in diamond soon!

Nice job man! Getting better from Gold is way easier than from Bronze. Diamond or bust.

Congratulations, but I demand a replay of this!
