I was wondering if anyone knew of any streams of people playing poker, maybe you yourself or someone you know or watch?

Currently getting more and more into poker. Just curious to see how online play works

Thanks All (:

No one streams poker because spectators could sit at your tables and take all your money. I'd suggest signing up for a free membership at deucescracked (or any other site) and watching some videos.
Of course, you only live one life, and you make all your mistakes, and learn what not to do, and that’s the end of you.

oh whoa.. that never occurred to me about the spectator thing, that makes a lot of sense.

Okay thanks man I will check it out.

There are a bunch of video's out there of people who recorded their online poker and are giving commentary on it. Just search for them on youtube.

I know Justin.tv's Sports section usually has a couple professional poker streams if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

I've been planning on doing some sort of poker stream when I get my computer fixed. =]

but yeah, anyone live-streaming themselves playing is asking to lose money

You could just use a delayed stream.

You'd have to delay it by like.. an hour. 5 minutes would still make it well worth the other players time to watch the stream, they'd learn your tendencies quickly if they were able to see what cards you had in that last hand etc.

I don't understand why you'd need to delay for more than the duration of a hand.

If your strategy deviates so much from the optimal strategy that the watchers would detect faults in your strategy with such a small sample size, perhaps you should ask a coach to do that for you, so you can avoid these mistakes in the future.

Xtal,
You've been trying to get into poker for quite some time now. Having talked to you, I really have to say that it's just not for you. You don't need a poker stream, coach, etc, you just need some discipline and a very basic guideline as to what to do. Watching anyone play abolve NL25 is going to mess up your game seriously because the concept of bluffing really doesn't exist at your level. If you have an interest in poker, that's fine, but you should try to get a solid basis before looking into more advanced skills. It's fine to be a spectator. You can win with the strategy "bet when you have a good hand". If anything, you should record yourself and then ask someone to critique your play, what you'll learn is going to be 100x better.

Nvm, I agree with mikey, a pokerstream would probably just be pointless cause it would only help a few people and it's awfully boring to watch

Yep.

But if some pro will make his own stream(like Negreanu) it is worth to watch imho =)

I occasionally stream myself playing Sit&go tourneys for real money.
I will not be streaming until wednesday the earliest though.

No winning poker player in their right mind would set up a free stream for anyone to watch. Poker knowledge is worth a ton of money and people who are good at displaying and explaining what they are doing can charge people money for coaching.

But this is so true.

Of course I will send you a PM when I start streaming. I did do it once, but I was getting paranoid because one person seemed to be calling my bluffs perfectly and shut it off. It didn't help, and I was elim'd, so it may have been him just learning my style. Besides, its not like I am playing high stakes poker. If I was, there would be no chance of streaming, but small 1$ +.20$ 9 person sit&gos are not a huge deal.
