There's a review. Beats are awesome if you've never tried a decent pair of headphones in your life, but they are overpriced as hell. $300 for a pair of decent headphones is just absurd.

For the price, they are definitely not worth it. I have tested them multiple times, and being priced at $300 is completely ridiculous. I use AKG K-240 studio's that I paid $100 for, and I think they're far better than beats in both comfort and sound quality. The bass doesn't stand out as much, but that much bass detracts from the music imo.

It's probably been discussed to death at the head-fi forums, just look around there if you want something more in depth.

Never ever ever ever buy Beats/Bose/Skullcandy trash. Bose and Beats are WAY overpriced for what they are and Skullcandy is just awful sound quality.

Like others, they are nothing special bar the exorbitant price.

If you are a true audiophile, you can't pass these up, but if you don't have cash, you can find sick headphones way cheaper.

But for other options, I will stand by my Klipsch Image S4 earphones till the day I die. They are not the be all and end all earphones, but they have the best sound and quality for the price of around $80. But don't take my word for it. There are plenty of reviews from respected organizations.

Reason being is because all these celebrities got paid big cash to wear them. And it worked so good. Dre is a marketing master, I mean, he marketed a white rapper in a black game. So of course he can push headphones. Again, echoing everyone else, Bose = paying for the name, not the headphones or the sound processing. There's a pretty well known saying in the pro-sound industry... "No highs, No lows, it must be Bose." lol. I think the reason people like the Beats or whatever is because they're...Dr Dre. Similar to Bose, people just blindly pay for a name. *shrug*

Commercials might not always be entirely true just so you know. The only reason I can't think of to put his name on that pair is for the marketing & probably so they can up the price. So what GTR said is probably true. I have headphones that are extremely popular amongst professionals & they cost me under 200$. All that said, I don't think those are bad headphones, just that there is probably a lot of air in the price. If you want audio quality, I suggest you look into headphones used my sound engineers & the kind. Those headphones generally try to sound neutral and natural. If you however want headphones that make the music you listen to sound good only thing you can do is to try out every pair in the store. Every pair of ears are individual, you can't really go asking on forums what is good or not. Only thing we can help you with is pointing out obvious flaws in the product but most of those are specs that can be found on the products homepage.

I consider myself an audiophile and I know not everyone else is one, but holy fuck it's so tilting knowing all those people dropped that much cash for such bad headphones. So many better options for the price.

Step 2: slap on the face of some celebrity that the type of people who will buy said headphone will admire Step 3: make sure said celebrity has on a *tuff* face in the photo shoot Step 4: $$$
