I remember this as being one of the very first gamer interviews I ever read back in the day. I printed it off and took it to school to show my friends, and spent all day talking to them about how good players actually fly across the world to play in huge competitions for money. Heh.

Wow, I'm really sad that it took me this long to read the interview after having seen it in the spotlight for a while now. But I'm really happy that I did read it. Even though this was way before my time I'm always so interested in the history. I didn't know that Nazgul was so competitive back then. I also didn't know he was so ancient.

Thanks for the history lesson! I really enjoy reading about the past.

Is it the wcg where nazgul lost against a 2 tank drop from boxer on his cliff? i don't remember the name of the map... it had a cliff just next to the main which allowed tanks to shout the mineral line and there was an expo on there too. I'm sure the game i'm talking about was played at wcg but i don't remember when

Boxer did a fast tank drop (he almost always did this) and microed his tanks against nazgul 3 dragoons, did the boxer-micro-dropship thing and won the game right there.

Then I decided to make my own clan. My goal was only to recruit well mannered and very good players.

Success by these standards even 10 years later. This was the start of the philosophy that has made me so proud to call myself a member of the TL community.

Commander Keen is teh win! I played all six episodes and Keen Dreams, but I lked Commander Keen 5 the best.

That were the days! I am glad, that Nazgul mentioned Commander Keen.

And, yeah, he also played versus Boxer.
