EPTWhat's up with that? Is that word really that uncommon in the english language or is it just some running get only native speakers get? I just can't imagine that people never hear that word for their whole life.

Also as a non-native speaker, I can assure you that I've learned (heard) the word 'wind' long before knowing how to pronounce 'rewind', and I'd guess this is the general reality for most people. Wind is actually much more common | ||
