I think it pretty much nails it. Even thought it's spoilerish, it's necessary because this movie isn't worth 1 thousandish percent worth of the original film.

Just don't waste your time. Don't watch this movie.

Oh god S. Darko was utter trash in comparison to DD, not even a competition. The film is garbage anyway, but when you see it as the sequel to Donnie Darko it makes it even worse

The director changed, the actors changed. They only kept the name Darko.
This movie is just pure garbage. Don't waste your time.

Would break the law of sequel if this was any good.
Especially those 10 years later none from the original is involved type of sequels

I saw S. Darko on my Netflix stream... It was indeed terrible, but if you're the sort of person who likes to watch bad movies to laugh at the plot holes and awful acting, this is the movie for you. It's not so-bad-it's-good in a goofy way, it's just a legitimate train wreck, but I was sort of drawn to how bad it was and how obvious of a cash-in on the success of the original it was. They barely even changed the plot, and they must have got one actor just because he sort of looks like Jake Gyllenhaal.

I don't know what to say... I loved the original Donnie Darko, but I didn't hate S. Darko. They didn't duplicate their original movie exactly, and I'm glad they didn't try. It was slightly different, with backwards references. It was just a different movie.

There's only 1 difference : there's 2 backward travel time. Other than that the movie is just not worth watching even with this difference.
I still don't understand what happened to the tragic guys that died on the cavern. I still don't know who lock them. Iraqjack ? Or the nerd guy with glasses ? Maybe i'm thinking too much but if it was indeed the iraq guy then this movie just fails harder about deepness (spelling ?) stories behind the characters...
It was frustrating cauz there were too many holes, you couldn't know what exactly happened really. Even though on the original you couldn't know what would have happened to the girl and everything, but at least you felt it was reaching an end. This one is not.

I haven't seen it because I heard it was really bad, and Donnie Darko is definitely my favorite movie... possibly of all time because it's such a hidden gem type of a movie.
