first time i got this in 23 days just doing random stuff, hopping to new achievements when possible for quick ups to guarantee getting all the other achievements in one swoop. i could probably cut this down uite a bit as the 6000 was the very last one i went for (after i got all the other ones and maxed out all the upgrades)

in terms of records, i haven't really tried too much but the highest altitude was 353 feet, the longest distance was about 7200, fastest speed was 300+, and lowest altitude was around -43

okay so i went back and tried to get it faster, got it in 21 days (although i think my winning flight was on the 20th day, maybe not.. weird)

anyway, this was more of a trial run to see which achievements u can get with which gliders/rockets
btw my start so far is: +1 accel, which lets me get $20 next time for 1-1-1, which lets me get the distance achievement -> glider after day3. i dunno if that's optimal but that's what i've been doing
so lvl1 glider + 1/1/1 can't get you 10ft height i believe (wasted a day on that)
but lvl1 glider + 2/1/1 can!
lvl1 glider can get u the time achievement on lvl2

lvl 2 glider + lvl2 rocket can get u the 100ft height / speed upgrade in one shot

3glider/2rocket can get u 1500ft easy, can also get u the 225height/225speed in one shot as well for easy money (aka basically a free lvl 3 rocket)

anyone know any better combos? ;o
also this time i got 6k ft by having max top row, 3 empty in middle row, 1 empty in bottom row, and 3glider/3rocket/max fuel. there's probably wayyyyyyy many optimizations to make here but im just jotting down my experiences

just tried this again, **its possible to get distance achievement on day2, letting you get your glider BEFORE day3 flight**!
im not sure how to use this though as 0/1/0 + glider1 doesn't seem to be able to get much other than the time achievement. if i could get height+time, on day3 that would probably be the optimal start

edit: scratch this, 0/1/0 +g1 can get you 10ft. im pretty sure this *has* to be the optimal start

day1: $17 spent on acceleration
day2: $25+25 distance achievement, spent on glider
day3: $xx + height + time achievements (still working on getting them both, but i've gotten one of them for each one.. just gotta merge together)

edit: GOT IT
this lets me have 0/1/0, $100 and glider ready for day4 flight which has to be getting the time achievement on lvl 2, for a rocket1 before day5. woot

Really? That ending sucked. Cool game tho

For the last mission, make sure you're a fully epiced out max level penguin, then just fly low and sparsely tap the rocket fuel to keep you at 125 mph. No need to get huge altitude or burn the fuel early on. Your biggest enemy is wind resistance...

lol this keeps getting bumped and i keep trying it agian
i did it in 18 days and i wasted 3 days experimenting, so 16 days that someone said was posted in youtube isn't the max.

by the way, this time i hit 6000 with
9/4/10/ max glider, max rocket, max fuel
yep accel isn't that important in hitting 6000 it seems, only for gaming achievements early. there's way optimizations to be done here but sub-15 should be possible no doubt. i'm lazy

i still use my 0/1/0, $103, glider before day4 start btw. haven't been able to find a better one (not that i've really tried tbh, tried to figure out mid-game achievements this time around)

so now i'm trying to figure out the minimum needed to hit 6000
i'm just gonna go ahead and assume the mandatory ones are glider/rocket/fuel/resistance
now i'm trying to get it with 6 height and 3 acceleration
i've come as close as 5956 but it's tough.. atm im using a blast @ 15% until out (which brings me just barely to max speed) then downwards at 0% with speed slowly going up, then just hanging around at water-level
anyone wanna help test this out ?

the reason is, the acceleration upgrades in particular get expensive, but u don't need more than 3 (and u only need 3 to "cheat" some achievements early on), plus the ramp height is kind of 'meh' which again you don't need
i've hit 6000 with 9/4 before, but 6/3 is proving tough.. blah

edit: with 7height/3accel it proved to be quite easy, i think i could hit 6100 so it's a little disappointing that i can't hit 6000 with 6height/3accel.. hmm
edit2: hmm i've developed a better flying technique which let me hit 7800+ on full everything (before i was hitting 7500ish). it's blast @15% like before, but max out at 190ish, (in other words, tap the rockets til they run out once u hit 190ish). maybe with this i could hit 6000 with less stats than above. sometime tomorrow i'll give it a shot.

edit: just hit 7900 flat. booya

well after a couple of tries i cleared the game in 15, so gg to that 16day video. the game said i'm incredible, aww

ALSO i messed up twice, so i'm pretty sure 13 or 14 days is optimal

note:
for length, optimal (i think.. hits 7900 with full everything) strategy: boost at 15%, dont go above max speed, once fuel runs out, be at full speed as long as possible (but not go into critical), then glide along water
for height, you don't have to go as high as they say, take into account the height of glacier and subtract it. or there's some bugs, dunno

here's my start:
day1: $17, spend on accel, go FLY
day2: $25+distance1 -> buy a glider, go FLY
day3: get height and time achievements, end up with around $100. get lvl 3 accel. you won't be putting any more points in accel. go FLY
day4: get speed1 achievement. max out cliff height, drop the rest into resistance if u like, go FLY
day5: get height/time achievements at level 2, get a rocket, and 2fuel
day6: get lvl2 distance achievement, *from here it gets a little blurry, cause i only did it once*, i think u get lvl4 fuel
day7: get height/time at lvl3, get lvl2 glider?
day8: go back and get the lvl2 speed achievement, spend on height?
day9: get time/height at lvl4, get lvl2 rocket?
not sure how the next ones work out, but just get the achievements..

3glider/2rocket can get you 1500ft easily, can get you max speed and max height easily.
then max out rocket, and resistance, drop some into fuel, and go for 6,000
i hit 6,000 this time with 7height/3accel/10resistance/7fuel

=)

Finally beat it. I got 6,300 ft. I was messing up before because I was wasting rocket on trying to get more altitude to last longer which should have just been used to retain horizontal velocity. Anyway, fun game, thanks for sharing!
