don't forget to pop vitamin c like it's candy. as soon as i feel a cold/sore throat coming on, i just pop 500mg every 4-6 hours and 1000mg before i go to sleep. also, if you start taking it after you get sick, it'll still shorten your sickness by quite a bit. i always keep a bottle on my desk.

I had a swollen tonsil few weeks back, it was fucking hell. I couldn't swallow anything without having to feel massive pain in my throat. However, hot/warm drinks were very soothing. Gargling salt water seemed to help but I think you have to do it numerous times throughout the day for it to be effective.

I used to have a sore throat a lot during the winter, so I ended up carrying around a big thermos full of lemon tea.

Tasted delicious and I felt better too

You probabyl won't try this, but I've done it and it works

If you have a ore throat caused by a bacterial infection (strep, tonsilitis, etc) you can kill the bacteria by letting garlic juice run down the back of your throat.

It doesn't make the other symptoms go away, but the sore throat gets a lot better!

put quite a bit in, it needs to be fairly saturated to do anything. do not swallow, kus that much salt isnt good for you.

Hydrating is a good idea. No real upper limit, just make sure you're getting the salts and other shit you're pissing away back with whatever you're drinking.
