This was supposed to be a blog for what happened the whole day but that would make the title misleading.
It was the first day of school.
It was fucking hot - it was the rainy season.
It was the first time I took a 4:30 onwards class, now I have a T-Th 6:00-7:30 Philosophy Class. A friend of mine who graduated last school year told me to take the class for the professor, and why not? I would be one of the 160 or so students who would be taught by the Dean of the School of Humanities - great deal if you ask me.
Since I had a 1.5 hour break before that class, I decided to make use of my tuition and abuse the internet and the aircon that the library offers.
There was thunder and lightning.
For 5 minutes or so, I had a nice time watching the lightning fall and the thunder clap through the skies. Oh, a dark cloud was steadily gliding over.
It was 5:05pm. It rained.
A few minutes later the raindrops were hitting the glass wall of the computer laboratory.
It was wet and windy - it was the rainy season.
It's pretty fucked up if you ask me. It's really hot in the afternoon and it's going to storm in the night. I wouldn't say it was storming, there wasn't any to begin with. 10 minutes later the university decided to cut power to the 2nd to 5th floors, they didn't want anything unfortunate to happen - the ground floor had electricity.
It was 5:20pm. Lightning fell and thunder clapped.
The rain will stop any time soon, it always does. Rain starts with lightning and thunder and it always end in the same way - that's the way they roll here. Storms give off a scent, rain are more "glamorous" with their entrance and exit. There was a boy and a girl who wanted to get out asap. They weren't going anywhere, the rain was still hard and will die to a drizzle at around 5:45 and end at 6:00.
As I let the clock tick and the rain pour to it's death, I was thinking of how to get out the damned place. Sure the rain will stop and I'll still have time to go to my class - dry and still and time, but I had to at least let my feet stay dry.
Well I managed to map out where the water levels will be high and low and after deciding on a definite route, I set off, it was 5:40 - rain was weaker, the wind was gone, the thunder and lightning weren't there.
I've seen desperate people run with their bags/books over their head and go to the nearest building. Sometimes, life justs want to shit on you, like force you to get wet by crossing between buildings then right after you get to safety the rain will stop (this has happened to me a lot).
So yeah, I set off, since the rain was weaker now, the water levels were not as high as I first expected them to be. I manage to keep most of my body dry as my shoes and my jeans took most of the water in (no, they're not that wet). It was uhh, glorifying? to have been the wiser - but not really the wiser in my case. As I approached the covered walkway connecting several buildings, I stupidly pressed on the button of my umbrella, making it close right on top of me.
Good thing it didn't have that much rain on it.
It was 5:45 - it was drizzling.
...
It was 6:00 - the rain stopped.
It was 6:45 - me and my friends were shaking from the coldness of the aircon that made our feet extra cold.
Best first day if you ask me..

Personally I was expecting an epic tale of being trapped inside of a library, the frantic search for an escape exit, the hopelessness of being trapped, the need for food, that feeling that you'd never get out. And then, the evil bad guys that left you inside to rot, narrow escapes, books used as weapons.

Wow that's so crazy, I wrote about my trip to the Philippines. I'd make my own thread but they're so similar I'll just post it here.
It was the first day of school.

It was my first mission alone, my first mission since St. Petersburg. My first mission without Tom. I thought I'd be out by now, on a beach somewhere restoring boats and forgetting about all this shit. There was one more mission though. One more mission, for Tom.
I had an hour before before they'd be out, so I crouched out of sight and pulled out my sidearm. I cleaned it quickly but carefully, to make sure there were no mistakes. I learned that the hard way. I learned that from Tom.
There was thunder and lightning.
For five minutes I held my head back and let the raindrops fall straight at my face. For five minutes I was somewhere else; the raindrops took me away.
It was 5:05 pm. It rained. He had less than an hour to live.
A few minutes later I was watching him through the rain-obscured glass panes that walled the computer laboratory. I thought about taking the shot through the window. One shot and I can go home, or atleast somewhere else.
It was wet and windy - I needed to be sure he died.
I know it's fucked up. You worry about the rain and your clothes, and getting to your final class of the day. You don't know you'll be dead before the clouds part. You can't know. The lights on the 2nd and 5th floors went out. I kept my eyes on him through the windows from a distance.
It was 5:20 pm. Lightning fell and thunder clapped. I wondered if the minutes were passing quickly or slowly for him.
The rain hit the blacktop around my feet and smelled like spring rain does, warm and earthy. My senses make me nostalgic for a second, before my brain remembers it's just the Actinomycetes. Life's never as romantic as wish. The boy and the girl were still in the library. I didn't want to kill her too, but I would do what had to be done. The hand on my watched ticked as I looked at it, closer to 12.
I let the watch tick and the rain pour, although I was truly powerless over both, just as he was. I watched him look at the clouds and his shoes. He was worried about the rain. I almost felt sorry for him, spending his final minutes worrying over such a trivial thing.
I moved to a more elevated position on the hill and mapped out my approach. It was 5:40. He set out from the building. The rain hadn't stopped, and I smiled. It would cover my advance.
He moved swiftly but his eyes fixed on the ground, and he was slowed by the puddles. I wouldn't need to shoot. I'll get close enough to use my knife.
I was five paces behind when his umbrella snapped closed, dumping its rain on him. I pulled out the blade and lunged forward. The point zeroed in to make contact when I saw it. I saw his face. He didn't kill Tom. The information was bad. I slid the knife up my sleeve and bumped passed him. He didn't notice.
It was 5:45. I almost killed the wrong man. I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.

It was 6:00 - the rain stopped.
It was 6:45 - I was buying a plane ticket home. The air conditioning in the airport gave my goosebumps, and my hair stood on end. I wonder if he felt it at all, if he felt how close I was.
What a fuckin day...

I just read the first few lines and gave up....so sorry...but I think your story is too detailed? and not straight to the point..
Ah, I'm sorry. But when I read 5:05 and I saw next paragraph it says 5:20....somehow I got turned off.
