Mine hurt like hell too, but the only painkiller I took was just some tylenol. I just slept like for 2 days while laying in bed on the computer or reading. It sucks but if you get past the first week ull be fine bro. With this under your belt, the next time pain comes you will just shrug it off like a beast. | ||

Well the first two days were really brutal. It hurt so bad I could barely eat, I literally just drank some milk, ate soft tofu and drank gatorade for 2 full days. I also had to use gauze to stop the bleeding. It was bad but with a bit of tylenol and some distractions like watching action movies, playing games helped me get through. The next 5 days were basically recovery. It really didn't hurt that badly but it was still difficult to eat and my right cheek got a bit swollen as well. overall, I think after the first week I was fine and after 2 weeks I made a full recovery. It's really only the first two days that's like hell. | ||

I actually threw up after surgery, I'm pretty sure I'm sensitive to anesthetics. Afterward I had pain for about 5-7 days after and had mostly soup and liquids the day after and slowly worked my way to solids about 3 days after. Like 4-5 days after they had me cleaning out the holes with a syringe. I can still feel the holes back there with my tongue and it will continue to be that way apparently for the next few months or so. Oh yeah I almost forgot, they prescribed me Hydrocodeine, which is a Vicotin equivalent, and some strong tylenol. For the surgery they knocked me out completely and numbed my gums. | ||

Ended up pacing round the house for four hours sucking on a bunch of sore throat lozenges in the hope the anaesthetic in those would do something. Then it was just soup for a few days. Teeth suck. | ||

I was lucky that they gave me something pretty powerful to knock me out. I remember being in the room and they had just put an IV in me and I felt sleepy, so I laid my head back and the next thing I knew my mouth tasted like blood and I had a bunch of cotton in my mouth. | ||

I think my experience was different than most, but that's not how it worked for me. The first few days, I was fine and felt little to no pain. But on the fourth day after having them extracted, I started having intense pain in my jaw, not near the back where the teeth came out, but under my canines and bicuspids. I had that for a little over a week. My vicodin, which barely dulled the pain, ran out and I started taking some leftover tramadol and that worked about as poorly. So I took sleeping pills every day for the duration and tried to sleep through it all. fun times | ||

The dentist had to struggle since my tooth was essentially sitting sideways. but just be prepared for the aftermath and ask for better pain killers. | ||
