SC2 Alt Key View Switch

I really miss this feature, no idea why. Anyways I implemented it into a trigger library and it works pretty well. You can't use this for vanilla SC2 though

Currently selected units will be viewed if you press an unassigned group. Although its not like you are going to press ALT + Group unless you have assigned it anyway. There's no condition to check if the button or units belong to a control group unfortunately. Hardly noticeable though.

Could you explain what it does to someone who never changed options in sc1?

You click alt and a control group and the view instantly switches to that unit, it was a very nice feature although a bit unknown. I actually remember there being a thread about it like a year ago where people were wondering how Jaedong was switching screens so fast in his fpvod.

Hopefully Blizzard integrates it in to sc2 at some point..

edit: sc1 sounds? Is that just on the map or have you found a way to replace sounds on the game without the game crashing?

Its a mod and the map simply imports it, so it only works for custom maps.

Lets say you had to flick through 5 units spread around the map. The current way would be to press 1122334455, however with SC1 you could just hold Alt and go 1 2 3 4 5. Basically you are using half the keypresses not to mention that double-tapping is slower than pressing 2 keys at once. Its basically 3-4 times faster and hurts your wrist less.

Yup i was missing that feature too. Seems so much harder to multitask without it

how do you have custom sounds playing, is it because of your custom map? or is this a previous patch? as of patch 13 any custom sound files replaced in mpq files will crash SC2
