I got a key myself but I kinda owe one to my best friend, he's got me into lots of betas before... So if i get him to play SC2 he may consider to stop playing HoN (Which i REALLY don't enjoy) and moving on to starcraft

As someone whos always willing to learn, I'd like the opportunity to get a key.
Anyways I'm just finished first year university and trying to get into medicine in the future. But during my spare time (the rare occasions) I like playing SC. Despite playing little during the school year now I actually have more time to play. Considering how I actually determined to do well in anything I try, I think I should get a key.

Because I can't get a preorder key here in Australia. My only option is the internets. I've entered a dozen competitions and i regularly visit TL.net and kill the server with my F5s ready to copy and paste any key people randomly put here.

I want one to give to my best friend, to addict him to SC2.
He is Korean (but we live in Switzerland) and he promised to play SC2 if I got him a Beta Key.
If I can get him hooked, he'll probably take me with him to Korea (Proleague!) next summer.

I won a key by participating in one of the TL.net's contest. I tried to win one through another for my friend but I sucked T.T. After that TL.net contests soon ended and I participated in other contests in hopes of getting my friend one. In all those, I failed. It sounds like a sob story but I really want to get my friend a key, so that he can play with me >.<. Thanks for reading and thank you for this opportunity.

Because I’m a creative and occasionally hardworking person – if I like something, I’d be good at it whatever it is.
So if I can play the beta, i.e. actually have a chance to ‘like’ the Game, you’ll see viable builds invented by me in play for sure.

Don't have a beta key and the only thing holding me back is that I'll be overseas for the next few months and unable to pick up the game unless they release it for digital download.
Played through the original as well as the expansion multiple times and I'd like to get somewhat of a head start learning all the new units and putting together strats.

alright lets give this a shot...I'm currently in China and none of the people I know are currently living in countries where preorders are available, so that's out of the question for me...I've tried f5ing when those beta giveaway threads show up but someone else always beats me to it and I've tried participating in those contests but because of the time difference I don't really have a chance with those...I'll be sharing the key with quite a few friends over here and all of us will love to have an opportunity to try out the beta...

You should give me the key because I've spent 20+ hours of my life trying to get one and have not succeeded yet. I even wrote some bots for some of the giveaways but it still wasn't fast enough >.<

I think you should give it to me for the following reasons:
- SC was the first strategy game I had, that was when I was 10 years old. I enjoyed it very much, especially the campaign (I love the history of the game) and the map editor (I think the map editor was my first introduction to formal logic. It really helped me develop mathematical intuition (This year I was accepted at a PhD maths program at the University of Minnesota)).
- For many years, I hoped for a sequel to the game. It seemed incredible that a story with so much potential (secret level) were not continued.
- Many years later, I met the world of Warcraft III and TFT. This time I did learn to play at a multiplayer level, mainly watching replays of MadFrog and FoV (UD). With this game I learned what "micro" means.
- When I heard they were developing a sequel to Starcraft, I began to review periodically the blizzard site, for updates. It's been so long... (heck, I have friends who still insist that Starcraft 2 is an urban myth)
- A few months ago I met TL and started to follow the pro scene, and I also learned the basic protoss BO. I learned what "macro" means. Now, I periodically practice with a friend on ICCUP.
- I love Nal_rA's Oldboy Series.
- Although I'm a D+ noobish, I want to enjoy SC2 and try new terran tactics. I have followed a lot of SC2 tournaments and invitationals.
- Finally, because I've been waiting for this game more than half of my life.

Hello, I dont have a key yet. And I want to try beta. I tried to get it a few times and I would think I get it from TL. cos I love it so much, but nothing happend so far. I tried on another site to, where I registered only to get beta, but I am no TL like 50x a day, its my homepage and also internet home. Nobody I know IRL is TLnetter and only few played SC, so TL is kinda my only hope.
I didnt think it will be this hard to get to beta, damned !

I believe I should retrieve a beta key for my friend because I would love for him to work together with me to test out this new starcraft environment. Whats even more awesome is that i'm actually bringing a lot of people from my school to begin playing Starcraft. And i'm the top out of all of them..

Why did it all turn out like this for me? I had so much promise. I was personable, I was bright. Oh, maybe not academically speaking, but ... I was perceptive. I always know when someone's uncomfortable at a party. It became very clear to me sitting out there today, that every decision I've ever made, in my entire life, has been wrong. My life is the opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every of life, be it something to wear, something to eat ... It's all been wrong.

I have a key, but I want one for my friend. We are sharing my key (also with two other friends, but they hardly play), and always have to manage who plays when. The only way for both of us to enjoy an evening of SC2 is to meet up at my or his place and take turns playing and watching. We'd also love to play some 1v1 against and 2v2 with each other. Preordering is not an option because we don't want a gay German version of the game. If you send me the key, we'd both be very pleased.

Hi! I would love to have a key, because I got really hooked into this community. About a 1,5 months ago I did not even know that such a thing as Starcraft II Beta exists. One day I was just randomly browsing youtube, where I picked to watch HD and Husky's dual commentary on some random game. I watched it, then watched another video, then I subscribed. I continued watching their videos and they kept repeating TL and TeamLiquid. I decided to check out what it is.
What I found totally blew me away! I have never seen such an active, friendly, creative and smart community before. The wealth of information here got me very interested in the game. I started watching Day[9] dailys, watch livestreams, follow tourneys and enjoy the strategy discussions. I have already decided on my race, build order, strategies for different match-ups and many other minor things. I got really into this game, without even playing it.
I tried getting a beta key, but most competitions were/are already over. Pre-ordering for me is not an option, and I am not going to beg for a key, no matter how much I would like to play this game.
So this is my reason. Hope you will consider it.

I, by calling every game store near me, entering every online competition and raffle online, and of course going for the opt-in, was lucky enough to receive a key from a very nice person on this very site. I have been enjoying it immensely but, unfortunately, not all can share my good luck. I've been letting my friend come over to play on my account, but he lives far away, and its getting really hard for him to keep coming over. He's a way bigger fan of the game than me (he played the first, but I didn't), but no matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to be in the right place at the right time to get a key. Although he keeps trying, he's getting more and more demoralized. I feel a bit guilty that I should get to play so easily, while he doesn't, so I've taken up calling all the game stores nearby (even some in another country), and of course going on to TeamLiquid.net and Battle.net to see if I can find him a key. It's his birthday coming up very soon, and if I can get him a key for his special day, it'd make him happy beyond words. By making him happy, I'm happy, and if you, Smorrie, could just send me a key to give to him, it would make both him and me happy beyond words. Please, and thank you.

My ex girlfriend and I used to live together. Her family used to respect me and treat me as their son, surprising given that they are Korean immigrants and I am caucasian. One of the things I used to do to connect with her family was play StarCraft with her father and her brother. I taught them the basics, watched progames with them, and played with them online. Throughout the past year we have gone through a lot of drama (we as in me and my ex). We don't live together, but recently we both realized we still miss each other. She goes to the college we both used to go to, but I am not there anymore - I live close to her family right now still. I think that if I got a beta key, I could reignite the connection I had with her family despite being a college drop-out. I could do the same things with them with the beta that I did with SC1. That would make transitioning back into a solid relationship a lot easier, with her parents approval. As pathetic as it sounds, I think she is the only thing that kept me sane, clean, and responsible. With her: went to an ivy league school, got good grades, had a steady job, didn't do drugs. Without her: sell drugs, no college, no solid employment, got arrested and had to spend my life savings on a lawyer for a court case tomorrow (trespassing at an abandoned psychiatric hospital and possession of weed). I know that these are all factors that I and I alone had control over, but I also think that I do these things to run away from my past. I have traveled around the states and lived in many areas, escaping from the pain. This might be the best way out for me.
