Among rare instances in which the female takes over the role as the main character/ the heroine, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte stands the tallest. Among the* ? I think.

I tried reading the book in grade 12 English but gave up and still raped the course. I actually did better than people who had read the whole book because I would read the significance of passages, thoroughly understand the different themes and elements etc.--which were all included online--and thus had more substance to my papers. With that said, I probably couldn't tell you much detail about the book! It has been way too long, it's not that my method was inefficient (aside from my cramming lol). As for criticisms, I would probably reword your thesis to make it sound less extravagant. I'm probably the last person to ask about literature, but there were probably other significant works involving strong women. One that comes to mind is Cleopatra... wasn't there a work by someone involving her and Mark Anthony?

Just some suggestions. In the parenthesis I put some reasons for changes. Throughout history, art and literature have been dominated by the masculine figure. From Homer’s Iliad to the modern day Harry Potter, countless epics, novels, and stories have set male figures as their main focus (before you made it sound like the Iliad was a male figure). The feminine figure, however, has been cast as the accomplice, the side kick, or the silent force driving the male. From Odysseus' Penelope to Harry Potter's Hermione, the female figure has never been as glorified as the male hero. Among those rare novels in which a female heroine takes the lead as the main character, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte stands the tallest. Its heroine, Jane Eyre, overcomes many difficulties on the road to a better life: a life filled with love, religion, and happiness. Charlotte Bronte, by showing that women could be independent, hardworking, and, in Jane’s case, stubborn, created the beginning of the end of female exclusion from the literary world. Still not perfect but I think its a lot better while still leaving most of your wording intact. What do you think?
