What I do is shave it first with the trimmer on the electric shaver. Then I use the normal shaving part. Then I shaving cream the hell out of my face and shave with the grain. Then I shaving cream the hell out of it again and shave against the grain. After that I look super close and go over anything I missed with just the razor. Seriously, its super stupid though. | ||

Notthing wrong with that, you ask some others here for an honest reply and I'd bet there are more than you think, I can honestly say I was in that situation too. With regards the problem, shaving with the grain to lop the tree down to size, then foam and against the grain to get proper smoothness, although that'll only last 12 hrs tops before you start getting sandpaper again. | ||

My beard isn't too thick so it's easy for me but I can't see how doing the above won't give you a close shave. Use a sharp razor obviously. If you want a ridiculously close shave learn to use an old-style safety razor or a straight blade, but now we're entering into serious time cost/benefit tradeoffs... You should be able to get "close enough" with a standard razor and the above technique. | ||
