Hey guys, been sitting on my ass waiting for an opt-in beta key(which from the looks of the friend invites will never come), and figured I'd try my hand at making soap. I saw it in Fight Club which is by far one of my favorite movies, and it looked pretty cool. First thing I did was google soap making, and I found a lot of stuff on making it. Plenty of different methods, Hot Process, Cold Process, and melt and pour. I read that Hot Process could be used immediately and that you don't need as much fragrance(which is very expensive) so I went with that one. I went out, found a recipe online consisting of Olive Oil, Conola Oil, Castor Oil, Cocoa Butter, coconut oil and some other oils. The fats in the oils are used with lye to create the soap. Obviously I wouldn't go steal human lard from a liposuction clinic for the fats.

I also found a Fight Club Soap and Pink Dye on the internet to make it look just like the ones in the movie. I also picked up some lemon fragrance so that they smelled good. Then I went to my local Lowes and bought myself some lye. This was somewhat hard to get, as Lye is used in crystal meth so a lot of stores have taken it off their shelves. A lot of the lye that I found was drain cleaner lye, which is mixed with other chemicals so no ideal for soapmaking. Also, lye is a highly caustic meaning when it comes in contact with your skin it will burn it.

After I purchased all my ingredients, I measured all the oil out exactly how the recipe said, and combined them in a heated crockpot. (without the food of course)

While that was happening, I decided it was a good time to measure out the lye. I put on my safety goggles and gloves and carefully opened the bottle and poured.

Then I waited for the oils in the crock pot to meld together and become a thick soupy liquid before I stirred in the lye(which was mixed with water) By the way, the following images are from the internet and not from when I was actually making it since I was busy, but these pictures depict exactly what it looked like.

Soon it looked something like this
[image loading]

I stirred maniacally for the next 5 minutes about, until it started getting very thick, and that's when I knew I had to put it in the molds. It also looked very purple at the time of the pouring which was odd, as the dye was very very pink.

After that, I let it sit overnight and when I came down I popped them out of the mold.

They turned out fantastic, I was very happy with them and the feel great. They smell good, and had a bubbly lather to them. Anyways, hope you enjoyed my first blog.

That’s awesome, using all those fat-alternatives, you may lack out the epicness of having soap made out of people, but none the less! Do you think you could link the recipe? I'd love to give this a shot also where'd you get the mould for them?

Yep, I still use it for food because once I'm done I hardly need to wash it as it is filled with soap!

I read that in Hulk Hogan's voice for some reason.

And now I can't remember your actual voice.
