lol so recently i have been watching the simpsons start from season 1 episode 1. i have every single episode on my computer so i plan to finish it someday. i always watch an episode or two while doing work, sometimes while high, before going to sleep. those are the best times i watch this show. it's gonna be a long journey. but it sounds fun!

i'm currently in the middle of season 2. holy fuck one season is so long

has anyone ever finished the entire series?
favorite seasons in your opinions?

I've seen basically every single episode before the current season at least 3+ times each, many of them 5+ times. Basically watched it every time it was on through high school. Dropped off now that I don't have ready access to a TV in my dorm =\ I'm a Simpsons junkie :3

While I do agree to an extent with the general opinion that the series is past its prime, I find that there's still quite a few quality episodes in the double digit seasons.

Season 1 did drag on, and I personally felt that beyond establishing the family's base characteristics, it didn't strike out as a very strong season.

I think the season 6-9 era contained some of the best episodes, but again, I question the outright dismissal of anything past season 15 (heck, I've even seen the line drawn at season 10) that seems to occur a lot. It's still a solid show IMO, with occasional moments of brilliance.

lol i tried doing this but i failed... i think i stopped somewhere in the middle of the entire series. now, i still watch simpsons but only when i feel like it and whenever it's on tv

but with your post, i'm now inspired to start again from season 1 episode 1

favorite season - i can't say i have a favorite season. i love some episodes from one season to another. but i prefer the old seasons than the new ones. except for season 1 i think, i love the story line in season 1 but i find it dull, the drawing and the sound effects are a bit boring.

Watched every episode since season 6 starting about a year ago and some of them from before that, I find the older episodes hard to watch because of the shitty animation and imo. they aren't as funny overall.

I know a lot of the die hard Simpsons fans prefer the 6-12 season or somewhere around that part but for me the newest seasons 19-21 were the most fun..

currently I am on a quest to watch all House M.D. episodes and am currently half way through season 5.

I remember Season 8 being the "new" episodes. I think I stopped watching at season 10. I've often considered catching up but I can't remember where I left off.

tree house of horror's were always great to watch.

I've seen every episode before ~season 14 several times, thanks to TV networks that love showing reruns. Not complaining though, the show rocked.

My opinion of The Simpsons' variable quality over the years, expressed in the quality medium of Microsoft Paint:

I consider Season 5 as the best, followed by Season 6. 4-8 are my "Golden Years". Season 1 and the late teens were just godawful.

have watched since elementary school, many repeats, and seen just about every episode

there's no way I could do like a marathon though, that sorta crap always kills me

hard enough to jump into a series that has already started, especially if it isn't just on like every day at a convenient time

my favorite episode is the old man and the lisa. I remember watching the simpsons three times a day and knowing the dialogue for an episode. My sister and me use to predict the episode just by watching the opening where they sit at the TV.

there were some magical episodes that were jam packed with creativity which i found lacking in the newer episodes.

I really enjoyed season 12-14, I thought that was the best period next to 6-9.

I think the Stonecutters episode was one of my favorite episodes, the sheer absurdity of it just made me lol. And I love that song...

Other episodes I liked was the one with Scorpio, the one with the Movementarians, and the Catholic one. I also tend to like Lisa episodes, like the Evita one.
