Many years ago, the sewage system was not good so putting toilet paper in can sometimes block the tiolet. Nowadays, however, this is no longer a problem. On the other hand, putting used toilet paper in a basket is smelly and can cause many health-related problems. Therefore, you should flush your toilet paper. | ||

Most plants in most of the developed countries are designed to handle toilet paper and toilet paper is designed to degrade in water, so there's no problem with flushing it. However, especially in the developing world -- but in some parts of the developed world as well -- you'll find treatment plants that can't take it. | ||
