Koje is an extremely underrated artist from Finland. Since his debut, I'm not quite sure how many albums he's released to be honest. He is quite underground. But I do know that he has, at the very least, released a tape titled Cyanide High and did a split with someone else. I can't remember the title of that, and I'm too lazy to discogs it.
The only album I personally own is the previously mentioned Cyanide High tape. I bought it for 2 Euros - what a bargain. This album is fucking fantastic. About 40 minutes of pure bliss that more than 99% of the world is missing out on. I believe it to be the best album of 2004 personally. It's amazing beyond belief...
Both sides of the tape are completely instrumental. No vocals to be found. I'm not exactly sure if the sides are 1 track each or multiple tracks, as the tape casing doesn't say anything about it and they blend together so well, yet transition into something even more beautiful than the last tune before it gets dull.
As such, I personally want you, TeamLiquid, to listen to this beautiful work of art. Koje has stopped making music as far as I know, which is a shame - mainstream music and 'indie rock' are to blame. But that's beside the point.

Are YOU trolling? Just because you killed the music industry with your crappy indie rock doesn't mean we all listen to such brain-degenerating garbage.

Calm down. Like I said, not everybody listens to garbage. Jesus TL, I thought you cats would be more accepting of people's tastes. Especially when they're better than yours.

I guess it's just not for everyone.
To the people who are raging so hard; I'm so sorry for posting something I enjoy. I will never do it again or attempt to post a unique opinion here. ;~;

Yawn, not funny.
You going to tell all your buddies in your algebra class tomorrow how you spent 20 minutes looking like a retard? I'm sure you will.
I, for one, am not some inbred hillbilly who insults everything he sees. I don't quite like koje as much as you SunnyAfternoon, but I can see how and why it appeals to people.
To be honest, I closed this tab with it after I heard a high pitched wail... or so I thought. Im not criticizing your taste, but this hasnt changed my life.

At least some people here aren't so rude as to go criticizing other's music the second they listen to it, just because it's not their favorite genre. -_-_-_-
I listened to about two minutes of it. I don't understand it, it's definitely not my preferred form of music. But if you enjoy it, you should definitely have that in peace.

Well if you're not joking I could upload it. There's a problem with the volume on the tape itself on side B, which makes it incredibly quiet. I forget whether I boosted the volume in audacity or not, so I'm gonna have to warn you that the quality of the rip is terrible. Not that it matters since it's just some Finnish guy breathing into a mic. And you're probably being sarcastic.
Does it evoke any emotion in you? Are there patterns in it that appeal to your ear? Is it the unique instrumentation (lol) that appeals to you? You seemed plenty articulate in generally extolling it in the OP.

Can you describe the sound in that track? I can't. But yes, it does evoke emotion in me. Like all music I enjoy it makes me happy. The texture of the sound appeals to me as death metal grunts appeal to 14 year olds.

Many people do not need music to evoke positive emotion to enjoy it, but if that's what upbeat is to you, enjoy away. As to 14 year olds, in pokebunny's case, I think of something with higher pitch than death metal.
I like noise music a lot and I grew up listening to Jazz. I also don't like Koje.
Music isn't just sound. There are interactions in sound that sound good or bad to the ear, and these relationships can be used and manipulated to create all sorts of music. I wouldn't say music is sound, I would say that music is composed of sounds.
I just want to make sure, everyone heard some sort of static with high pitched squealing and low pitched squealing, right? Just in case I'm hallucinating, or hearllucinating.

Well, what kind of noise music do you listen to then? I don't think Koje is entry level.. in any way... so, you know, that could be a problem. ^_^
Well I really like Health. Apparently some Sonic Youth albums are considered noise rock, and I really like them. I am into acts that are considered art rock, which shares a lot of features with what I've heard labeled noise...
I'm no expert on the genre, or what precisely comprises it. I listen to an extremely wide variety of things.

Well, noise is a pretty wide genre. So I guess I should've been more clear. To clarify, Koje is harsh noise. Somewhat similar to other stupid sub-genres like power electronics. Definitely not for everyone.
Well, I can see why its appealing to some. Unfortunately, unless its REALLY brilliant, I need some sort of melody to enjoy a music, and generally (though not always) structure is desired. Not quite my cup of tea.
That doesn't sound any different from the engine sound of a plane, reminds me of every time I go back to HK. I never get any sleep on the plane for 15+ hrs from the sound and I always have a terrible headache after every flight.
