So I just hit B- with stats of 87-78 and its pretty awesome, the best I've ever gotten before was C, and that was season 7 where I played 250 games so this is a huge jump from my previous rankings.
However, I did dodging most games vs T, so if I stopped, I would probably be a lot lower.
Surprisingly, my best matchup was TvP. I thought my TvZ was better. With TvP at 63-43 59% and TvZ at 26-33 44%. It's obvious my Vp is better, probably because I played so many games vs P and I've simply had more practice.
A TvT record of 1-3. My all v T is 13-15. My PvT being almost 50%. I guess protoss being the easy race is somewhat true in my case.
Things to work on: 1. Speed, I'm pretty slow hovering around 180 apm, although none of this is spam so maybe that's fast enough for me?
2. Macro, It's not surprising to see my resources climb to 2k/1k off two base when I spend too much time with 4 vultures picking off probes. Although I've made up for this by adding 2-3 more production facilities than the pros would. I also get stuck at 34/36 and 44/46 supply alot, that's no good.
3. Base placement, I lost alot of games cause my units couldn't get around while I died to mutas or recalls.
4. Anti-Cheese, In particular 3hatch mass lings. I suck vs cheese in general, and I don't think I survived vs an 3 hatch ling once. I think my vs cheese record would be under 30%
Onto noteworthy maps
Python- my most played map, I ended up with a 22-23 record not counting off races, and used it a total of 28% of my games.
Othello- 12-4 as Terran. Not too surprising I guess since its a T favored map and suits my vult heavy harass style really well.
Rush hour- A 4-0 100% win map for me. Another Terran favored map, so I guess map balance effects me a lot.
Outsider- God do I hate this map, I went an awesome 1-9 or 11% on this map. My apm's pretty low and I'm not that used to dropship play, so it's not too surprising that I did bad on this map before giving up and just avoiding it.
Destination- 11-7 61%, People say its T favored and I guess its true, although I didn't play that many games on it compared to its popularity.
HBR- 2-9 18%, like outsider, another Horrible map for me. My base always feels crowed and haphazard so recalls really hurt me. Not to mention the always available counter attack keeping my stuck in my base while opponents take the whole map.
Fighting Spirit- I think only C+ games were on this map so the 12-8 60% record isn't bad in that sense. Although almost all my victories on this map come from pushing to the opponents bridge and containing him to 3 bases, and lost when I couldn't do this.

awe too bad seasons over; I could have taken some of your points away

good job! a lot of upper-rank success stories on TL lately o_o!
|
Awesome job man. It feels great to be able to actually see the results of great improvements. Gratz!
|
Heh, I beat you TvP on Colo on my journey to B-. nice job!
|
Lol poke, I was really tempted to leave when you switched to T and started the game. I made a face when I saw that during the countdown. Then I was like w/e I can learn something from this only to get rolled by a great timing push.

gratz on teh Blue. And u did it with a winning rec too unlike some other skilless newbies. LOOOOL.

|
gj!

When I saw you switch race I figured you play terran/pvt and therefore play greedy (most people do that) so just predicted your build =p

Grats! I hit B- for the first time this season as well.

we should have a party in ladder a-b to celebrate

And I'm stuck at D rank -_-
|
I didn't play this iCCup season, so my comment is entirely speculation, but considering the ranks some TSL players got and the abundance of B- blogs, I am just going to assume this season was much easier than previous seasons.
Either way B- is B-, so GJ. For next season, I would advise that you try to hit B- again asap and just keep playing. So many players hit B- and stop, or smurf two-three accounts to B- so that they won't have to deal with a losing B- record and take a hit to their ego, I was guilty of this at one time. GL.

You're about to reach the top and I am still camping out on the ground!
|
Salv, its probably because of the extended season. Since you can get to b- with a negative record its not entirely too difficult if you are C+ level player other C+ people. Because there is more time, the people who get past the C+ level with positive records are already in the B ranks, so its less likely to play somebody good who is just going though C ranks into the A-B ranks. So yea, it probably was easier this season.
Still getting B- for the first time felt noteworthy to me, and I used it to take a look back at my season so far and figure my greatest weaknesses.
