Again a day late, might actually start doing the blog on mondays instead of sundays since, for some reason, I'm always busy sundays now.

Goals set up for week 5:
5x50 minutes swimming, I didn't manage to fill that goal because I've been crazy busy this past week. I've been going on 4-5 hours of sleep all week so I just couldnt get a 5th work out in there.

Making my breakfast more healthy. I set this goal for myself after reading the comments to my last blog, and I've been working on it. My breakfast combinations this week have been the following:
Option 1:
Low fat yoghurt with 1 banana sliced into it, glass of orange juice, a slice of wholemeal bread.
Option 2:
Low fat milk, orange juice, eggs of some sort, two slices of wholemeal bread and 1-2 bananas depending on how hungry I was.

I have also tried to keep from eating inbetween meals but fell off the wagon a couple of times cause I was so stressed out. But atleast I wasnt eating anything sweet or unhealthy when I was "snacking".

So for my next week I'm gonna keep three separate goals:
Goal 1:
Working out: 5x50 minutes swimming
Goal 2:
Eating better: I'll have a look at more ideas for breakfast since having only two options kinda sucks.(please contribute if you have something that might help me here)
Goal 3:
Getting more active: This is a new goal, I want to become more active inbetween my swimming-sessions. The goal here is to become more active in my daily routine. Maybe getting off the bus one stop earlier. Walking from the bus-station to school instead of taking another bus.

Question of the week:
Do you guys think it's too early for me to start going to the gym once a week or will it actually boost my metabolism?

Awesome thing of the week:
Alot of the friends I hang around with often has stared notice me losing weight. They say my face is starting to look slimmer and that my upper body (chest and up) is where I seem to be losing weight first.

It's never too early to start going to the gym once a week. It's probably a good idea for you to get acquainted with the people and equipment there, it's always awkward the first couple times.

Don't get tempted to buy any julmust =)

Consider eating the "3% naturell yoghurt" instead of the low fat versions because for me personally it tastes better and keeps me full longer.

Cut the orange juice and eat an orange instead they taste great around Christmas and are alot cheaper then the kind of juice you could replace them with. My third suggestion is to bake your own bread because the right kind of bread is very expensive in sweden (except for knäckebröd).

I have baked myself for over year and I have saved alot of money doing it. I can give you all my recipes if you want.

I have eaten the light yogurt for about 3 years and I switched back recently and it was alot better food for me

I would mix in fruit with your breakfast, its healthy and fills you up. I think it wouldn't be too soon to start hitting the gym, just be really careful not to hurt yourself, and don't be afraid to start slow. If you put yourself up in traction for a week, all your hard work will basically be for nothing.

Good luck and keep it up!

Nice job dude. I think experimenting with the gym would be a good idea.

This would be a smart thing to do. Every little bit helps.

Awesome thing of the week:

Haha too late, but I drink maybe a litre a month this year, unlike last year where I could down a litre of julmust a day.

That would be really awesome, cause I love baking and since I'm nothing but a poor student saving money is always a plus. Also freashly baked bread is just so good.

@everyone else:
thanks for the kind words so far

It's never early to start going to the gym... and if you ask me once a week is too weak of routine even for a beginner. This is comming from someone who went from 120kg to 60kg in like 7-8 months. You need to push your limits no matter what... at least thats the way i see it and it worked for me.

Keep going, but cut out the juice if you can. Really high in sugar and calories. Other good breakfast choices:

cottage cheese on toast
egg sandwich (egg on toast with low-fat/no-fat cheese)
yogurt with cereal (get plain yogurt and add nutrasweet or splenda--makes it taste great!)
toast with peanut butter on it (be careful with the amount of peanut butter)
yogurt with frozen berries (make sure the berry mix you get doesn't have added sugar)

Try eating 5-6 smaller meals a day to really rev up your metabolism. Also, post pics!

Make a bread and make me proud (want pics). I advice against cutting fat in your diet overall. Cut food that's obviously very bad but not stuff like cheese or yogurt.

That way you will stay on your new diet a life time instead of getting sick of it after some time... Speaking of my own experience.

I can't stop eating bacon. I must have bacon sometimes for breakfast and as a result try to workout a little extra that day/coming workout

I would suggest eating smaller portions for breakfast. It seems like you're eating quite a few calories and you want some where around 400 for breakfast to start your metabolism then have a larger(not huge) lunch and something slightly smaller for dinner. Apples or bananas in between the meals are a great choice for snacks too. No calories after 10pm!

he's said in his previous threads that his scale doesn't go past 120kg which he is currently heavier than. I'm sure he'll start keeping track when he gets it down though.

I'm trying to mix it in, but my imagination really sucks sometimes. And the starting slow part will most likely be the biggest problem I'll face, since I've always been the guy who wants to show off.

Absolutely, next week is picture week. Hoping that you can tell the diffrence.

Thanks for the advice but I'm just gonna keep my consumption down. It's kind of me rewarding myself when I go out and get a glassbottle of julmust. And if I have one in the fridge I know it'll wait for me after swimming so I'm extra motived to go swim :D (I dislike light-drinks overall, maybe a part of why I'm fat?)

I don't know actually. Buy I have noticed a diffrence, I have this jacket I used to wear and since... april it's been tight but now I can actually wear it without lookin like the michelin man.

No I haven't gotten that far into looking into my eating habits. Instead I'm just keeping off fast food (which I think is helping alot) and try to cut down on calories. I have this problem that I get too serious too fast and then I just get sick of it cause I'm kind of laid back, so this time i'm taking it slow. piece by piece, trying to improve one thing per week.

Thanks for the advice! I actually didnt know that about orange juice. And I FUCKING LOVE cottage cheese on bread. Is cereal actually better then bread for breakfast? If I choose one of the more healthy options?

And pics coming next week

Yeah you're right, I have to make my meals smaller, I'll try to see how many calories I eat for breakfast tomorrow.

Thanks again for the advice and the kind words guys!

The kind of orange juice that's not full of crap costs pretty much. My favorites are Brämhults and Kiviks.

Those products are made from oranges and oranges only. Have a bottle and drink one glas of juice on saturday (or something like that). Every day consumption is not optimal and as I suggesed have an actual orange instead =)

Those meatballs looks great I could not have done better myself. Buy expensive lingonsylt and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Cereals as in corn flakes are bad but rågfras or müsli is pretty good for you. Bread is fine though stick with what you can eat the rest of your life
