Anyone else do this? I have done this for as long as I can remember and I swear every time it comes up in a conversation (at a friends, camping, etc etc) everyone I have ever told completely freaks out and goes 'WTF YOU BRUSH IN THE SHOWER?'
Benefits of brushing in the shower:
1) Saves time (two things at once) 2) Saves water (see above) 3) Never forget to as I shower every day and its like BAM right there.
So, do you brush in the shower?
Poll: Do you brush while showering? (Vote): Yes! (Vote): No (Vote): Sometimes, but VERY rarely.

i've always thought this was a good idea and wanted to try it, but i feared that it would be weird.
i do this and i pee in the shower too... the shower in the morning combines all 3 routines into 1
I used to brush my teeth in the shower all the time before I got an electric toothbrush... But I still floss in the shower! I find flossing outside of the shower to be a bit gross for some reason. I always find myself worrying about getting teeth gunk on my shirt or on my fingers as I'm flossing it out.
Only when I'm in an insane rush and am practically shaving at the same time using the toothpaste foam.
EDIT: Don't do it, you fuck up you're burning.
Stay true brother! I also floss and mouth wash. It's like, how else are you going to find time for those things?
i don't do it regularly, but i've had occasions where i have done it and i've enjoyed it.
actually this is wrong. by brushing in the shower you waste more water.
i dont know about you guys, but I'm a heterosexual male. As such, I usually shower for about 3 or 4 minutes. during this time I wet my hair and body, use soap on the required areas, and rinse my hair with shampoo. doing those things requires my hands. if im brushing my teeth, it means i cant do those things.
brushing your teeth in the shower only saves time if you're the kind of person who just chills under the shower not doing anything.
I have an electric toothbrush, but I must say this intrigues me
how does that save any water? lol.. you're in the shower for just as long, maybe even slightly longer if you're brushing your teeth -> wasting more water
You lifehacker. I don't want to do this at night though, feels like a morning thing. Is it refreshing?
i love multitasking i foam up my hair with shampoo with one hand, brush teeth with another, memorize a formula in my head, all the while peeing in the shower
No,my hands are usually busy with washing the rest of the body. It's still impressing to see that more than 50% of TL has more than 2 hands.
I guess it saves water if, like Iazz said, you're the kind of person who just chills with nothing better to do in the shower..........
I admit, I do kind of waste water just chilling in the shower sometimes, but I pay an enormous amount of room and board for my dorm apartment-- I'm using that water!
no, i like wasting time and water, it relieves stress
I have having to wait around while the conditioner works so I usually brush to pass the time.. I also take really long morning showers because I'm always half asleep and usually doze off a little bit.
To those saying it wastes time, at this point I imagine that people (at least I am) are in such a rush that they are already doing everything at x2 speed. Also, it's possible to use 1 hand for shampoo/soap.
I do it sometimes when I wake-up late and being too lazy to do things separately (No that doesnt mean I take a shit/urinate in the shower).
I have never heard of anyone brushing their teeth in the shower before
fuck i thought brushing your teeth in the shower was a givenn for everybody.
i've brush (in the morning) in the shower. I've been doing it for years. I think its legit
I even shit in the shower, you guys just aren't efficient.
i never brush when i shower because i never shower in the morning

interesting. i never considered multitasking - using one hand for teeth brushing and the other for washing. however, two hands have a synergy effect, that is, how is one supposed to lather soap using only one hand? it is many times easier to use two hands in that situation.
ive had the same reaction from friends like 'omg you brush your teeth in the shower?'
It's mad fucking convenient man. I shave in the shower too (face lolol). But yeah it's so nice just to do everything all at once, with the warmth of a shower there for you.

that is really weird.
Shaving in the shower is understandable, but brushing your teeth?

Well I guess it depends on your set-up/habits, but I usually just take a pemza stone (I don't know what it's called in English... pumice?) and scrub it against the soap bar which is stationary on the side of the bath, then scrub it on my body, all while brushing my teeth. Switch hands as necessary. For the hair, one hand is enough for me at all times really. My ex got me into luffas and shower gels and stuff though, but I generally use the same process.
Never brushed my teeth, but I often shave myself in the shower since I don`t need foam for it.
Hmmm...I think I might try this out.
Seems weird though. Doesn't seem like it would save time. I do agree that flossing is gross, I'll try it in the shower to see if it helps.

Woah, I can't make it through the day without a shower in the morning. I always feel sleepy and gross until I have my morning shower.
I swear I didn't even think of brushing my teeth or shaving (face) in the shower before this, Brilliant! I can't wait until next morning LOL.

Curious as to what you would find weird about it.
I look at showering as a process to clean the body, teeth are part of that body :D. When you're brushing everything goes down a drain anyway.
Hell yes.
I never used to, but when I was about 18 I tried it once, because someone told me they did and I had never heard of anyone doing it before. I have done it ever since. It's brilliant.
That is so weird. You're a freak, dude.
unless you are really good at multitasking, you're not really doing both. you're really just getting wet while brushing your teeth or washing your body with a toothbrush in your mouth.

I totally have been doing this for a long time and I get the same reaction as you do, and I totally don't get it. I do it purely for the multitasking, I also shave and floss in the shower. Part of doing the shower thing is enjoying the water (getting wet), so I would most likely just being standing there anyways.
I do it mainly for reason 1. If I'm late for something, I will brush my teeth in the shower.
wtf I thought I was the only wierdo doing this :D
I need my hands while showering to get clean.
I've brushed my teeth maybe once or twice in shower, but that barely saves any time if I want to do both things properly, shower and brush my teeth.
If you want to save time, do something else than shower with your other hand while brushing your teeth.

I don't do it, but I don't think it's weird that you do.
I have patted myself on the back for doing this for years. we must be kindred spirits you and i. Everything you do in the bathroom is better while showering (except for defecating).
ha i do everything in the shower, thought it was normal. Been doing it for years. I think most of my family does.
brush my teeth, wash my face, shave etc
Wow I didn't know people brushed their teeth in the showers. I didn't but I find this extremely useful for people like me who are in the rush during the morning. Such a simple yet effective idea.
I've never heard of anyone brushing his teeth in the shower before now. That definitely uses more water than a sink and is only saving time if you're washing your hair or washing soap off your body at the same time.
yeah. brushing/shaving in shower must contribute a lot to wasted water and energy (heating).
Pity.
I've never done or even heard of this before, but it's actually a pretty sweet idea.

Trust me, it's better.
i do this in the gym showers after workout or swimming
so do many korean men by the way

brushing teeth in the shower wastes water but ok.
Agree with the guy above me, how on earth do you want to save water by brushing teeth in the shower? Personally i never thought of doing this and don't think ill do it^^Seems a bit weird
I shave and brush my teeth in the shower just cause im lazy
Never done it. Never will. It's a waste of water. Also real men shave with a straight blade razor so shaving is outta the question in the shower.
Sometimes brush in the shower.
Such a waste of water. Shower flow > Tap flow
I do it sometimes but I kind of like it because as a heterosexual male, I enjoy showering very much.

I always give myself plenty of time in the morning so that I am not in enough of a rush to do this. I don't find it weird; hell, I don't even find pissing in the shower weird.
i just tried it, and it was neat.
I do it everyday...why is it weird? Thinking something is weird just becuase you don't do it isn't right...and how do you know that a lot of people don't do it? This isn't something that comes up in everyday conversation.
I often have a beer in the shower when I come home from work ( my parents still think this is weird ). If you haven't had a cold beer in the shower you are missing out on the small pleasures of life.
I always do that, except when I'm at the gym obviously.
I always do it every morning. It works for me.

wow lol I've never thought of this idea before...
nope.. i heard of shaving in the shower, but brushing ur teeth? o.O
been there done that, but it's not too practical. It would make sense if you'd have your toothbrush/paste in the shower, but then I usually shower once a day but brush my teeth 3 times, so it's more practical to have them out of the shower.
This is how my morning routine goes- brush teeth + shave -> get into shower rinse off the shaving foam, have some mouthwash, do showering -> handsome-cream + aftershave + deo. SCV good to go sir!
I do it. And sometimes piss in the shower too.
requires too much micro! D:
i do it every morning :o when i first get in, i stand around for like a minute anyway adjusting the water temperature and getting my hair sufficiently wet for shampoo/conditioner (which has to be done before anything else for obvious reasons) so during that time i thought "hey, i could brush my teeth!" and it works pretty well and i believe it does save water in my case =p although that has nothing to do with my doing it in the first place, i'm just alleviating boredom during that first minute or 2.
So when you are done brushing your teeth you just spit it down the drain and open your mouth wide to rinse? Sorry but hot water just doesn't seem right in my mouth after brushing lol. I really don't see why it's better to brush your teeth in the shower. Shaving and pissing can be justified because it does actually save time but brushing your teeth?

Warm water cleans better. I cant imagine using cold water after brushing even if I wasnt in the shower.
I do it every now and then, its not like I'm trying to save time or anything its just something I randomly do. o_O
shit in the shower and stomp it down the drain imho
Shampoo, piss while brushing teeth and soaping body
i brush after I eat, and before going outside the house.
I brush my teeth in the shower
it's really a waste of water though and not the best method to clean teeth
No, my APM isn't high enough
It doesn't save water at all, the water that splashes all over your body is much more than the amount of water you use to wet your toothbrush.
I do it because it's convenient to have everything you need to do in the morning wrapped up in one shower. I used to pee in the shower too, but it's kind of bad form to do that if you have roommates. Also, it gives the side benefit of having my conditioner sit in my hair longer while I scrub + brush, as opposed to just scrubbing.
ive never heard of or tried this.. but i think im going to do this tomorrow and see how it goes
What a terrible waste of water. Didn't you listen to Sesame Street when they told you to turn off the tap when brushing?
Interesting... I never even have considered this but it does kinda make sense. Wouldn't you actually be wasting more water by brushing in the shower though? I mean when you brush your teeth the faucet is off the whole time you are brushing but in the shower it'll just be running the whole time.

Yeah I do this like every day, and damn sure that I might take a shot or pee at the drain as well now and then.
Thats right.
do you people here brush your teeth with 2 hands? I am guessing no, so of course this saves time.
It does waste water though and I dont do it simply cause its not as relaxing as taking a shower without it.
Used to do this every morning. Now I brush after my shower; the shower wakes me up.
My roomate brushes and flosses in the shower. I've done it a few times trying to save time and shit but really you are just wasting water.
It doesn't really bother me except he leaves his floss stuck all over the place and clogging the drain. The gross thing about it (and it told him about this), is that he leaves his toothbrush on the top of the shampoo tray where it is constantly water logged. Not only is this bad because it's gonna brew germs and probably get him sick, but when people wash their hair or even just move their arms around with soap, it's gonna splash on the brush.
I do this all the time. I take longer in the shower but a little less than if i were to brush my teeth and shower separately.
I foam up my hair and use the bar of soap with 1 hand while I brush my teeth with my other hand.
Hm.. Never heard of anybody doing this before. But it makes sense. Maybe i should start doing this hahaha.
I shave, and brush my teeth in the shower. Always have.
