I am not PGA certified, and I assure you I am crap. It is more that we just don't have enough actual pro's to run the course all week, so I needed to fill in.

What are the responsibilities of an assistant pro? It sounds like you have rules specific to your course that a 'pro' is essentially a shift manager or something like that?

Basically my understanding is that at all times there must be a pro or assistant pro present, so like even if certain people were working in the pro shop one of the actual pro's still had to be there. But we lost one of the 3 people that was considered an assistant pro and a few of the guys that work behind the counter at the pro shop. So now 2 or 3 days a week from 4:00 pm to close the entirety of the available staff will be Me in the pro shop, a starter, a cook, a bartender, maybe a picker and a few groundskeepers, and probably a beer cart girl. So yeah I'm not really a pro, but as far as golfers are concerned I will be because I will be the only person at the course filling a position that even sort of resembles that of a pro.

So basically I won't be a pro, but nobody will know that I'm not, so as far as they are concerned I will be the pro. Idk sorry that I made that so confusing.

Long story short: I got promoted and now I get to surf tl at work sometimes

(but also I have to make decisions like when to blow the horns during thunderstorms and other shit like that that makes golfers yell at you.)

On the subject of golf stance and grip for my drive I just refer to tin cup:

Grip it and rip it.

With the weather warming up I can't hate to hit the course again. I should have a lot more free time this summer so perhaps I can work the slice out of my irons.
