TF2: 65 @ 40% fan speed Wow 25 man raid: 75 @ 40% fan speed If you crank the fan speed it rarely goes over 65 (in the 25 man wow raid with full settings). I haven't seen it go over 75 yet regardless of what Its doing. Keep in mind this is overclocked to 780MHz (core) 1090MHz (mem). I think it defaults at 750/900? The drivers cap it off at 790/1100 ![]() It's pretty quiet until the fan goes above 50-60%, at 100% its quite noisy though (not much louder than my CPU heatsink though).

I usually keep the fan around 30 when idle and 50 at full load, anything after that sounds like a jet-engine on take off. -shrug- As far as I'm concerned as long as its under 80 I am happy. Most cards will run fine well into the 90's, and most wont shut down until they hit 100+. I think <80 should be delicious.

Getting into the 90s thats boiling water.

Yes, you can tell theres a huge difference. Unless you can run it stable @ 30FPS your bound to start dipping. So getting it to run at 60 frames is a great anything higher you cant really tell the difference. At 60 frames you can still drop a few but you wouldnt immediately notice any lag unlike dipping into the 20s which is very noticeable.

Not as good as the Vapor-X version but still pretty cool. Was the best thing i could get for 90 euros in France.

It is very much dependent on how the graphics pipeline's been organized. In rational architectures, it doesn't depend on FPS at all, 60 is actually quite a different magical number because it completely mitigates framing artifacts on high-speed objects, but that's only visual perception. 25 FPS means every frame takes 40 ms. Your average input latency therefore (the time between a game receives input and requests a frame render) is 20 ms, this is neglible. Much larger amounts of time are taken by the pipeline to proceed that request and your hardware to output it on the display. Unreal 3 is very hard to play on any FPS because of that, for instance. It's much more a matter of how the rendering loop is written than how your hardware can handle it. StarCraft is a fixed-FPS game with quite low FPS and it's still inhumanely responsive without network code in.
