From WCG China

+ Show Spoiler +

Toodming watched the replay after with a very sad look. He played very nervously I think. The game should've been a lot closer.

Yeah I could see that.. he had tremendous potential this game but never made that decisive move.

Just a observation: + Show Spoiler +
chinese players seem so tremendously mechanically talented to me but in the same respect very unrefined. They play a sloppy game.. but they play it really fast. Not going off just this game but rather a lot of chinese replays I have seen/games I have played vs them. The top tier like Lx, Pj, F91 and Super of old of course defy this to a certain degree but I feel this to be true.

4t told me something very interesting is that they all have been playing for so long that it's hard for them to get rid of bad habits for example 4t still uses the R key for rallying which wastes a lot of time. He said players like Flash and Jaedong dominate because they got good when starcraft was already pretty developed which enabled them to learn the game in the most efficient manner using the most scientific methods.

Watching the 4t replay after the Fanta replay shows Fanta having much more refined micro. Koreans generally play much cleaner than the Chinese. However one thing that the Chinese have on the Korean semi-pros/amateurs is that they are more versatile in strategy and are generally smarter players. You never see Koreans in replays fucking with their opponents for the sake of messing them up like F91 and you do...

The only way to refine their mechanics is to play more Koreans or go to Korea I think, they can't improve any further by playing with fellow Chinese and foreigners.

How does this explain away every other pro gamer? Why aren't these guys comparable to Nada, Savior, July who have been playing just as long, raised on the same bad mechanics. If you lack the dedication and will to be good, just say that. Coming up with excuse after excuse doesn't make anyone respect Chinese players more and telling us how much smarter Chinese players are compared to Koreans (even amateurs) is insulting. Especially when we can clearly see it isn't true.

I don't think zulu is making excuses for the chinese bw community. My observation is based on a cultural thing I think.. just like on the other end of the spectrum is the korean cultural tendency. In China you can be a top player, successful and train against other players of the same level while having a messy style of play. In korea everyone is constantly trying to refine their mechanics and that is why the superior levels of play has always come from there and trickled down to the rest of us. If you Nada, Boxer etc.. have always worked on their game bad habits or not and they have worked on their game with other players that are miles ahead of everyone else.. it makes a big difference.

If you're saying Chinese players aren't as good as Koreans because they lack dedication then you are, dumb. I'm not coming up with excuses I'm stating motherfucking facts that you're too ignorant to understand. If you don't know shit about starcraft you should withhold your opinions to yourself because it's insulting to my intelligence to have to respond to someone like you.

since we are talking about the new rally with right click vs old rally with R, is it just me that sometimes, actually a lot of times, when i set rally points with right click, the unit still doesn't go to rally point when they come out?
