The time has come for our forty-seventh IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win.
When: Tuesday, Feb 12 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also broadcast the match repeatedly afterwards!)
Creator.Prime is a multiple champion, but often is overlooked when considering the best Protoss in the world. He's one of the top 5 Protoss, truly fearsome with his gateway play. Last year he only lasted 2 rounds in Fight Club, which he's already surpassed. How far will his run take him in 2013?

Nerchio is a European Champion, but struggles in International play. His victories at IEM Bucharest and Homestory Cup V were against mostly European competition. He can take out top Koreans in a pinch, but failed to get into the later stages of BWC, IPL 5 or Iron Squid. Can he break that streak and take down a major Korean PvZ slayer?

Just out of curiosity what are fight club's rules on hots, will it switch immediately and will it keep the champion or start from scratch.

I say Creator will win decisively, because Nerchio hasn't been the same after WCS, even in online tournaments. Creator has a pretty large advantage here despite being pretty fragile recently.
Creator 5-2 Nerchio

I know the results already thanks to someone, but I can't wait to see this regardless.

Wait? We are Tri casting this bad boy? I'm down!

I think there might be some upset potential here. Creator is immensely favored, obviously, but he's facing one of the very best foreign zergs. Skilled foreign zergs have a good track record in upsetting good Korean terrans and protoss.
|
Creator by quite a bit, he has always looked good against Nerchio and Nerchio in general got a bit weaker against Protoss in the last three-four months, I don't think it'll be close.
|
Nerchio will get crushed, he isn't good at ZvP anymore.
|
nerchio has no chance, hes just not on creators lvl
|
Basically the only thing to look forward to is the whining, bit of an unlucky choice by IPL, I feel.

I can't comment on when we'll switch, but Frank and I have discussed what's fairest. Our consensus is that the current champion should be given the option to continue to play after a switch OR he can pause his participation until he feels comfortable with his HotS skills. He takes precedent over all other challengers after that and the bounty still stands on him.

Ty I was concerned that either the champion won't be able to practice hots enough and get his face caved in first week or he'll be playing too much hots and the quality of the last WoL fight clubs drastically reduces.

Why not have the champion being able to choose what game to be challenged on up until a certain point when it's a requirement to switch?

I guess mods are hoping that Creator wins. Less work to warn/ban in this Korean Protoss vs Foreigner Zerg context.
